The Lucan Clandeboye
Explorers began with three
groups: red stars saying memory
work for stars; blue group played
charades, getting ready for idea
of communicating without
words; and Mrs. Froats reviewed
with gold star girls their com-
positions on Being an Explorer
for three years to earn their last
star.
A film strip, was enjoyed
"Glory of Africa," a conversation
between a grandfather and
grandson telling of the natural
beauties, culture of music and
art. Mrs. Sawdon told about
schools in Africa. Parts of a scrap
book made by Marylynne
Shipway for her first gold star, on
schools and the many languages
of African people were read.
Knowing that many people in
Africa can't read the girls
divided into groups and drew
pictures to communicate to these
people. These methods were: (1)
a sign about a school rule; (2) a
sign to tell adults something; (3)
a sign you would find in Africa
but not in Canada, example (a)
school full, no more children can
come (b) school closed - no
teacher this ypar.
The offering taken would buy
one and one quarter Bibles for
Africa.
Next expedition March 3 begins
6:45 p.m. with singing and Easter
program.
