The Exeter Broncos are all
even with Goderich in the first
round of Ontario Minor Hockey
Association Novice "B" playoffs
with the third and final game
slated for the Goderich arena,
Saturday night.
After winning the first game
quite handily 8 - 1 in Exeter
Wednesday night, the Broncos
suffered a 2 - 1 defeat in
Goderich, Tuesday,
Dave Bogart was the only goal
getter for the Broncos in the
Tuesday loss to Goderich.
Three unanswered goals in the
first period sent the Exeter club
on the way to the win over
Goderich in the first game.
Dan Bell scored twice in the
first period and assisted on a
successful shot by Steve Skinner.
The first Bell was on an
unassisted effort while the second
came on a pass from Dave
Bogart.
In the second session, the
Exeter goal output was again
three. Steve Skinner scored on a
pass from Brian Mercer. Doug
Brooks set up Wayne Parsons for
a goal and Mercer notched the
sixth goal of the game with help
from Bell.
Goderich scored their only goal
early in the third period and
Wayne Parsons and Steve
Skinner finished up the Exeter
counting. The Parsons score was
on a solo effort while Dave Atthill
helped on the Skinner goal.
Doug Hoffman and Steve Wells
shared the Exeter goal tending
duties and both turned in solid
performances.
