Seven members of the local IJCW attended the rally at Calvary United Church, Strat- ford, last Wednesday. They are Mrs. Clayton Sims, Mrs. Douglas Warren, Mrs. Russell Fink- beiner, Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner, Mrs. Claire Schwartz, Mrs. Alvin telephoned Mrs. Arnold Blake, to warn her the fox was heading in the direction of their mink farm. Mrs. Blake opened the barn door to see the fox attacking a cat. She summoned for help from Gary Ledger who shot the fox and the injured cat. Geraldine Boland and Paul Dietrich London, visited Mr. & Mrs. Clem Boland and Joseph Dietrich last weekend. Rev. Fr. John Mooney and Joseph Carey have returned home after being patients in St. Joseph's Hospital. Harry Gielen received word of the death of his father in Holland at the age of 87 last week. Harry and Johanna visited him in Holland about six months ago. Rev. Father Glendinning of St. Peter's Seminary assisted Father Mooney for the past two Sundays' while Father Mooney was ill. Donald Mahoney has returned to western provinces where he was employed before coming home to attend his father's funeral. Miss Margaret Anne Hogan, 4 - H girls club meets at Staffa By MRS, JOHN TEMPLEMAN Staffa No. I 4-H Homemaking club held the first meeting of 'Accessories for the Bedroom club' at the home of their leader, Mrs. William Butson. The leaders discussed color qualities, hue, value and in- tensity. The girls chose as their club name "The Staffa Decorators Incorporated." There are thirteen girls in the club, officers elected are: president, Joanne Ross; secretary, Ruth Jeffery; press reporter, Elizabeth Templeman; telephone girls, Linda Miller and Mary Jane Templeman, leaders, Mrs. Spencer Jeffery and Mrs, William Butson. The second meeting at the home of Mrs. William Butson with twelve girls in attendance, Roll Call was answered by the color plan to use in my bedroom. Leaders discussed arrangement, the three characteristics of good arrangement being organization, harmony and convenience. Mr. & Mrs, Cliff Russell and Mr. & Mrs, Lorne Dietrich have returned from a two and a half week trip to Florida visiting in several places and also with Mr, & Mrs. Paul Tarpley, Mrs, Tarpley was a former resident of this area. The south group were host for the euchre party held Wednesday evening in Shipka community centre with nine tables in play. Winners were: ladies' high, Mrs. Angeline Scott; ladies' low, Mrs. Bob Adams; men's high, Lorne Devine; men's low, Harvey Ratz; most lone hands, Howard Thompson.
