The committee met last week and set up a proposed fee schedule for 10 industrial firms in the community, with prices ranging from $50 to $500 per year, Chairman Ross Taylor ex- plained the committee had agreed to present the rates to the firms in question to get their reaction, but later some mem- bers of the committee changed their views and the matter was dropped until the matter was brought back to council. "I wish council could stay in the same frame of mind for at least two weeks," Taylor com- plained regarding the situation. Mayor Jack Delbridge said he started having second thoughts about some of the fees after finding out how little some of the firms use the dump and how much they pay in taxes. He said the 10 firms pay a total of $62,000 in taxes. Councillor Tom MacMillan complained that he had done considerable investigating of the situation when he was chairman of the committee last year and TAX TROUBLE? Let George Do It! College leads in broomball Unlike the C.C.A.T. hockey team which is out of the South Huron Hockey league playoffs, the college broomball boys are in first place in the Seaforth broomball league. The Standings to date are: C.C.A.T. Saints 21 . Parr Line 16 Seaforth Jr. Farmers 16 Clinton 15 Chiselhurst 11 Hensall 11 Genesco 8 Firemen 4 Centralia College, only tying one game and losing one, is now unable to be ousted from first place. The team is coached by staff member Peter Mason and a junior A.B,M. student, Bob Hammell. The other teams seem to have problems in finding an opening in the college defence and goal. Hugh VanHout, the goalie, has 6 shutouts to his credit, 5 in a row. Perhaps the most crucial game of the year was played on January 27, The opposition for the game was Parr Line who at this stage of the season were only one point behind the CCAT boys and so challenging for first place. But led by a three goal per- formance by Alex McPherson and superb display of teamwork by the rest of the boys, they downed the very determined Parr Line team by a score of 5 to 1. none of this year's members had bothered to ask him for the in- formation he had compiled. It was finally decided to return the matter to the committee for further study. MacMillan was invited to attend. Rocky: What begins with P and ends with E and has hundreds of letters in it?
