Notice
Owing to the prevelance of influenza in the area, and
to protect our residents, the Home Physician has ordered
Huronview closed to visitors until further notice.
If the necessity arises, families of residents will be
contacted by telephone.
Two years ago, when there were many cases of flu in
the area, we closed the Home to visitors and we believe that
it was due to the public's excellent co-operation that a
serious epidemic among our residents was prevented.

Find difficulty
in setting fees
An attempt to establish special
fees for commercial users of the
Exeter dump has ended up in a
bit of a turmoil for the sanitation
committee.
The committee met last week
and set up a proposed fee
schedule for 10 industrial firms in
the community, with prices
ranging from $50 to $500 per year,
Chairman Ross Taylor ex-
plained the committee had
agreed to present the rates to the
firms in question to get their
reaction, but later some mem-
bers of the committee changed
their views and the matter was
dropped until the matter was
brought back to council.
"I wish council could stay in
the same frame of mind for at
least two weeks," Taylor com-
plained regarding the situation.
Mayor Jack Delbridge said he
started having second thoughts
about some of the fees after
finding out how little some of the
firms use the dump and how
much they pay in taxes.
He said the 10 firms pay a total
of $62,000 in taxes.
Councillor Tom MacMillan
complained that he had done
considerable investigating of the
situation when he was chairman
of the committee last year and

others.

warrants, a craft guild will be

Centralia College, only tying
one game and losing one, is now
unable to be ousted from first
place.
The team is coached by staff
member Peter Mason and a
junior A.B,M. student, Bob
Hammell.
The other teams seem to have
problems in finding an opening in
the college defence and goal.
Hugh VanHout, the goalie, has 6
shutouts to his credit, 5 in a row.
Perhaps the most crucial game
of the year was played on
January 27, The opposition for
the game was Parr Line who at
this stage of the season were only
one point behind the CCAT boys
and so challenging for first place.
But led by a three goal per-
formance by Alex McPherson
and superb display of teamwork
by the rest of the boys, they
downed the very determined
Parr Line team by a score of 5 to
1.
none of this year's members had
bothered to ask him for the in-
formation he had compiled.
It was finally decided to return
the matter to the committee for
further study. MacMillan was
invited to attend.
