Co-operation is what we asked
for and co-operation is what we
got. Yes, Sir, things were sure
"roarin' " around the Irish Town
Sunday as about 200 children
gathered at the Lucan Legion
Hall for their third Annual
Legion-sponsored Snow vehicle
ride.
From all appearances the
children really enjoyed them-
selves as did the 20 snow vehicle
owners and drivers who donated
their time and machines for the
entertainment of the children.
Not only did the children get their
fill of rides but their fill of hot
dogs and hot chocolate as well as
the busy women prepared 25
pounds of wieners and gallons of
hot chocolate.
The president and members of
Branch 540 express their grateful
thanks to Roy Hodgins who
organized the snow vehicles and
to the following for heeding his
call — Bob Hodgins, John
Hodgins, Herman Langford, Billy

thanks anyway.
While the children were en-
joying their rides the adults were
entertained by Diane Dick and

great variety of folk songs, which
was greatly appreciated. Thanks

not least, thanks to Larry Cronyn
for running around town
replenishing supplies for the
kitchen staff as they began to run
short and for supplying a goodly
supply of peppermint candy for
the children to round out the day.
All in all, it was a great day.
The kiddies enjoyed it, the
drivers enjoyed it, the ladies
enjoyed it and we enjoyed putting
it on. See you all next year at the
