through the interest of the public
that a club could be formed. If you

Bottom clubs
rise in Rec
In Thursday's regular double
header in the Exeter and district
Rec hockey league it was a case
of the two bottom clubs rising up
to knock off the league leading
teams,
In the reversal of previous
form, the Vikings edged the first
place Bank Boys by a 4-3 score
and the Juveniles downed Newby
Tire 5-4.
- The Bank Boys continue in first
place with 14 points, Newby Tire
is next in line with 10 points while
the Vikings are in third place
with a total of eight points. The
Juveniles are in the cellar with
four points to their credit.
Pete McFalls scored twice to
lead the Vikings win. His second
goal of the game came with less
than three minutes to go. Other
Viking scorers were Jim O'Toole
and Dennis Passmore.
Scoring in single fashion for the
Bank Boys were Pete Mason, Don
Campbell and Fred Wells.
A successful shot from the stick
of Larry Fulton with only ten
seconds remaining in the game
gave the Juveniles their 5-4 win
over Newby Tire.
The other goals for the winners
were fired by Ian Doidge, Peter
Zankowski, Dale Skinner and
Craig Webber. Jim MacDonald
registered two goals to pace the
Newby Tire scoring while single
goals were shot by Craig
Davidson and Mike Cushman.
Hawks
— Continued from Page 6
box and the game time keeper
and scorer were the busiest
fellows in the rink. The game
penalty total reached 41, with the
Exeter club taking down 24.
The Hawks win took the style of
a lot of their victories this season,
being accomplished in the last
period.
With the score tied 4-4 after two
periods of play, the Hawks swung
into high gear in the final twenty
minutes and scored no less than
six times to put the game away.
Midget goalie Eugene Glavin
made his first start of the season
for the Hawks sharing duties with
regular net minder John Hayter.
Despite having four goals
scored against him in a period
and a half, Glavin turned in a
steady performance. Two of the
goals he gave up came with the
Hawks playing short-handed and
one other with the teams playing
four aside.
Ron Lindenfield went on a
scoring spree for the Hawks,
notching the first and last goals of
the game and two others in
between for a four-goal af-
ternoon.
Brian Bestard was next in line
with a two goal performance.
Scoring in single fashion were
Pete Glover, Brian Campbell,
Jim Guenther and Bob Parsons.
Steve Murley was the top
Exeter playmaker, setting up all
of Lindenfield's four successful
shots. Getting three assists each
were Larry Haugh and Perry
Stover. Other assists went to Bob
Rowe and Peter Kleinstiver.
Bruins and Baracudas played a
3-all tie, This is the fifth straight
tie game in Pee Wee houseleague
and attests to the closeness of the
league. Steve Baynham, Brad
Taylor, Randy Fisher each
scored a goal for Baracudas.
Darrell Prezcater, Dave Mon-
tgomery and Randy Parsons
were the marksmen for the
Bruins.
Keep Saturday January 29 open
and plan to spend most of the day
at the Arena and help us
celebrate minor hockey day in
Canada. A full day of hockey
starting at 9 a.m. with the final
game starting at 9 p.m. all boys
in our hockey association will be
in action that is all except the
Hawks.
