defeated Vancouver 6 to 1. Two
goal scorers were Doug Brooks
and Mark Parsons with singles

games played Sunday night at the
Exeter arena and the close battle
for first place continues,
The Bulldogs downed Brinsley
6-3 to up their season point total to
14, one more than the runner-up
AiIse Craig club which edged
Lieury 4-3,
Bob Chapdelaine scored twice
• to lead the Shipka scoring in the
win over Brinsley. Checking in
with one goal apiece were Dan
Dalton, Barry Clarke, Bob
Galloway and Rene Boogernans,
George Tryon was the top
marksman for Brinsley with a
two goal performance while Jack • Glavin added the third counter.
Don McAlpine's two goal effort
.was best for AiIse Craig. Lone
goals were fired by Gwyn Grif-
fiths and Dave Collins. Wayne
Ropp with a pair of scores and

on goalie Doug Hoffman.
Boston had to go all out to
defeat Montreal 6 to 4 in a close
game. Wayne Parsons scored the
"hat trick". Dave Bogart notched
two and Jeff Newby one for
Boston. Larry Dawson with 2
goals and Doug Fletcher and
Brian Mercer with one goal each
completed the scoring for
Montreal. Six penalties were
called in the game.
In squirt hockey Dave Shaw
scored three, Brad Scott and
Kevin Glasgow two each and
Scott Batten one goal.
This is the second week in a row
that the Pee Wee games ended in
a tie, Bruins and Mustangs
played a 6 all tie and Black
Hawks and Baracudas to a 4-4 tie.
It would be hard to find four
teams more evenly matched of
late as one or two goals at, the
most separate the teams,
Two players scored four goals
each, Brian Horrell and Darryl

Ullman. A good pass may result
in a goal for your team, while a
poor pass can mean a goal
against. A good pass slips freely
along and does not leave the ice
or wobble.
School cagers
lose two games
The two boys basketball clubs
from South Huron District High
School fared poorly in a Huron-
Perth Conference double header
against Stratford Northwestern,
Thursday.
The junior contest was won by
Stratford by a score of 73-29 while
the senior game count was 96-35
in favour of the Perth county
club.
Paul Truemner netted 11 points
to lead the South Huron juniors
while Bryan Tuckey scored six
points. Albert Klungel was next
in line with four points. Paul
Robinson notched three, Mark
Gelinas and Bret Lovie were in
with two points apiece and Perry
Stover had a single point.
A 14 'point effort from •Doug
Smith was best for the senior
Panthers. Jack Darling was next
in line with nine points while Tim
Stover scored seven points.
Completing the losers totals with
three and two points, respec-
tively were Ken Lee and Tim
Decker.
Dashwood 10- Huron Park 2
Bill Hoffman's six goal per-
formance was more than enough
to carry the Dashwood Bears to a
10-2 win over the Huron Park
Plugs, Monday night.
Completing the' Dashwood goal
total with single scores were John

Doug Harding turned in a hat
trick performance to lead the
Centralia College Saints to a 7-3
win over the Hensall Cascadians,
Wednesday night in Hensall.
Checking in with two goals
each for the college boys were
Carl Mueller and Bruce
Corrigan.
The Hensall goals ,came in
single fashion from Bill Chip-
chase, Chuck Dalrymple and Ken
Smale.
Huron Park 6 - Dashwood 5
A goal from the stick of Doug
Martin with less than four
minutes to go gave the Huron
Park Plugs a 6-5 victory over the
Dashwood Bears,
Huron Park overcame early
deficits as the Bears led 2-0 at the
end of the first period and 4-2
after two sessions.
Martin was the top goal getter
for the winners with a two goal
effort. Adding single goals were
Larry Brintnell, Frank Funston,
Terry Millman and Bob Pinter,
Dennis Morrissey with a goal in
each period led the Dashwood
scoring attack. Chipping in with
scores in single fashion were Pat
McKeever and Jim Morrissey.
