Two points
for Irish
By CLARE STANL E Y
Lucan Irish picked up' two of a
possible six points this week.
Lambeth Flyers split with the
Irish, winning in Lucan by a 9 to 7
score then Lucan travelled to
Lambeth and won by a 4 to 3
score.
In LucanJimtlearn was the top
Irish scorer with a pair of goals in
a losing effort. Other Irish point
getters were Ron Funston, Bob
Evans, Craig Corman, Tom
Hodgins and Dave Revington,
For Lambeth Mike Prokosyka,
Bill Poole and Larry Little each
scored twice with singles going to
Dennis Toth, Sharon Kelly and
Gary Evans. Shots on goal were
Lucan 44 and Lambeth 46,
Friday night the Irish scored
four times in the first period, then
hung on to win 4 to 3. All of the
Flyers goals came in the third
period. Dave Revington scored
twice for Lucan and Danny
Calcott and Ed Legg got singles.
Gary Evans, Mickey Prokosyka
and Bill Poole were the goal
getters for the Flyers. Bruce
Maslem was in goal for both
these games.
Sunday afternoon the Exeter
Hawks received an early
Christmas present from the Irish
with a gift wrapped 9 to 0 victory
in Lucan before a very quiet
home town crowd. Lucan
managed only 23 shots on John
Hayter while the Hawks bom-
barded the Irish goal with an
even 50 shots.
This game saw three of the
Irish seniors pick up misconducts
for talking to the officials.
The third period saw Lucan
replace Bruce Maslem in goal by
his younger brother Gary but this
was a case of too little too late as
the Irish were unable to get on
track.
The Hawks outshot the locals 50
to 23 and were best by a country
mile over the Irish.. It is hoped
that Lucan can regain the form
and style that carried them to a
third place finish last year. Last
night Belmont provided the
opposition in Lucan and next
Wednesday Tavistock Braves
travel to Lucan. I hope everyone
has a Merry Christmas and
continues to support minor
hockey.
Wilson, Karen Mason and Bar-
bara Shea.
Other parts were taken by
Dorothy Buiridge, Janice Kestle,
Ruth Shea, Lynn Melanson and
Jane Lockyer.
