The meaning
of Christmas
By BRENDAJOHNSON
Huron Centennial - 8A
That time of year is almost hear,
When people are all in . good
cheer.
The glittering lights from town to
town,
The sparkling snow on the
ground.
The gifts are to be rapped and put
under the tree,
Anxious children about they can't
wait to see.
The evergreen trees are a
beautiful sight,
With tinsil shimmering in the
light.
The houses are all strung with
Christmas lights,
The colour is all such a stunning
sight
With nuts, grapes and tangerines,
They all make Christmas a
beautiful dream.
Toboggan rides through fluffy
white snow,
Lights from the town give off a
bright glow.
Christmas carols everyone likes
to sing,
Thats what makes Christmas a
beautiful thing.
It's almost time for Santa's trip
One more check over the good
and bad list.
His riendeer almost ready to go,
With the bag of gifts his riendeer
must tow.
Down the chimney Santa comes,
With gifts and toys for everyone.
Santa who acts so bright and
merry,
With dimples on his cheeks and
nose like a cheery.
Under the tree goes some toys,
Christmas is full of joy.
But Christmas is not just toys and
things,
Christmas is Christ our saviour
our king

CHRIST'S ARRIVAL
By BETTY BEER
Grade 6 - Hensall
A babe in the manger
No room in the inn
Safe from all danger
An infant within.
All shepherds are praising
The Father on high
Mary's voice raising
In sweet lull-a-bye.
Angels in glory
Are praising his name
And telling the story
Of how Jesus came.
The cattle are lowing
In sweet smelling hay
Very little knowing
On this wonderful day.
Jesus Christ's love
Until now . . from then
To earth and above
Peace to all men.
ALL IS BRIGHT
By SUSAN STRETTON
Grade 6 - Hensall
On Christmas Eve, when all is
bright,
Ole Saint Nick makes things so
right.
He brings you a toy or something
that will spring,
Cause it's just his way of doing
his thing.
Candy canes and fudge so sweet,
He fills your stocking with things
to eat.
Many a child so happy and gay,
Just can't wait till Christmas
Day.
THAT FESTIVE SEASON
By BRAD BUCHANAN
Grade 8 -Hensall
It's that festive season again,
From Ontario to Maine.
This is Santa's busy time,
Pleasing children of yours and
mine.
Rushing to the department store,
Trying to buy what their children
asked for.
Shopping for the last minute
bargains,
Maybe, balls, dolls, or trains.
Wrapping the gifts in paper and
decorating then with seals,
