Part of the entertainment was provided by the Hensall public school glee club. (regularly 69c) By !ORB, .RENA GAL-DWELL li513 EN Mrs. Wm. Batten, ..Ixeter, demonstrated the making of pottery when Kippen East Women's Institute met at "Belhuron Farms" - for the Christmas meeting. Mrs. Batten commented on the material, the moulding, the glazing and the firing and had on display many of the Ainished products. Mrs. Ken McKay gave uses of aluminum foil Mrs. Neil McNichol, a recent provincial honour winner was presented with a gift by Mrs. Wm. Bell, and Mrs. Grant McGregor, a new member was presented with an Institute pin and a handbook. Mrs. Drummond gave a report of the district board meeting and Mrs. S. Pepper gave the agriculture and Canadian Industries report. Mrs. R. Kin- sman reported for citizenship and education committee. Fines were paid by members failing to wear the Institute pin. Members will entertain the other branches in the district to a Dessert Euchre in February and visit the Blue Water Rest Home in March. Mrs. Don Adams commented on the Motto, 'The Happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.' The Roll Call was answered by 'my most unusual Christmas Card.' Mrs. R. Bell president, chaired the meeting and gave a Christ- mas reading as did Mrs. J. Drummond, Mrs. Wm. Bell was hostess assisted by Mrs, Camp- bell, Christmas carols were sung and Santa arrived to distribute the secret pal gifts. Mrs. Vern Alderdice and her committee served lunch. Sunday School concert The Sunday School of St. Andrews Church, Kippen, held their annual concert, Monday with the Rev. Paul Packman acting as chairman, The welcome and the closing verses were given by Nancy McGregor. Recitations were given by Melanie Lovell, Garth Hargreaves, Nancy Deitz and Heather McLean. Musical numbers were provided by the Parson sisters of Hensall and by Mr. & Mrs. Grant Jones, Each class was responsible for providing a number: the nursery class did 'The Christmas Story'; the kindergarten class, sang "We are a little Chorus"; the primary class gave "Ten Little Stockings"; the Junior class, "The Nativity Play". The Intermediate class presented a play, "The Pam- pered Darling". The successful Concert was well attended. The glittering lights from town to town, The sparkling snow on the ground. The gifts are to be rapped and put under the tree, Anxious children about they can't wait to see. It's almost time for Santa's trip One more check over the good and bad list. His riendeer almost ready to go, With the bag of gifts his riendeer must tow. Down the chimney Santa comes, With gifts and toys for everyone. Santa who acts so bright and merry, With dimples on his cheeks and nose like a cheery. Under the tree goes some toys, Christmas is full of joy.
