From Helen, Mary, Bob and Stan The Cubs had their Christmas A party Wednesday evening. After games and carol singing, lunch was served by the Mothers' Auxiliary, and a gift supplied by the auxiliary and the group committee was given to each cub member. Explorers The Explorers, divided into three groups led by Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk, Mrs. Cliff Kenney, Mrs, Jim MacDonald and Mrs. Earl Lippert, distributed gifts they had made to Crediton's senior citizens. At each door the girls sang a Christmas greeting. Store closed Bullock's Variety Store on Main Street was closed December 15. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bullock came to Crediton nearly 40 years ago when Mr. Bullock was employed by Dan Mclsaac at the same location. In 1946, after Mr. Mclsaac's death, Mr. Bullock bought the property and Mrs. Bullock has carried on the business since her husband's death seven years ago. Social Club Sunday afternoon the Crediton and District Social Club staged a Christmas party for the children of Crediton and district. The Community Hall which had been decorated by Club members was filled with children, Steve Pertschy was chairman and Gordon Ratz led carol singing, with Mrs. Harvey Hodgins playing the piano. Films provided by the Public Library Board were shown, with Tony Van Wyck as projector operator. Father Mooney of Mount Carmel was guest speaker, He showed slides of the Nativity and explained to the children the glory of the Christmas story. Santa Claus (Jack Jesney) came and listened to those children who A 2 had a message for him. Each child received a bag of candy as he left the hall. Zion Church Sunday was the day of Christmas service at Zion United Church. In the morning the Junior Choir, under the direction of Rev. Douglas Warren, assisted the Senior Choir in the ministry of music . In the evening was the Sunday School Christmas program with Eric Finkbeiner superintendent, as chairman. Doug Lewis provided organ music, Ross Pickering read the Scripture passage and led in prayer. There were exercises, recitations, plays and choruses, a duet by Debbie Finkbeiner and Dear Santa Clues, I hope your elves are making the toys nice and neet. We have'nt got our Christmas tree yet, Are your raindeer redy to go for a long ride. We do not have vary much snow at school or in Dashwood. Did you have a nice summer? Do you know ware I live now. Personals Monday evening at the Cen- tralia arena was Fun Night for all members and friends of Zion United Church. They skated and played broomball and hockey, Mrs. N. C.
