Mr. & Mrs. Milton Pollock,
newlyweds, have moved from
their farm home east of
Greenway to their town-house
north of Greenway for the winter
months.
Mr. & Mrs. Clare Reid of
Toronto have moved to Green-
way, occupying the house on the
property formerly purchased by
Ken Larmer from the Robert
Pollock estate.

Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Thompson
and family have rented the farm
home formerly owned by Mr. &
Mrs. Emerson Woodburn. Since
Mr. Woodburn's death in Sep-
tember, an estate sale has been
held, and the farm was pur-
chased by Morley Eagleson. Mrs.
Woodburn is making her home, at
present, with her daughter, Mr. &
Mrs. Milton Dietrich of RR 3
Dashwood,
Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Brophey,
having sold their farm some time
ago to Mr. John Twynstra of
Ailsa Craig have, in November,
taken up residence in
Greenacres, Grand Bend.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold McDonald
have sold their General Store
here to Bill Clarke of London and
are presently living in Southcott
Pines, Grand Bend. The Clarkes
have two teenage sons, Douglas
and Robert, who attend school in
London.
Carman Woodburn has been
successful in his second bid for
rock water this summer. He was
able to share lots of clear, cool
water with others during the dry
autumn season.
Jerry Bardawill of London has
purchased the property south of
Corbett formerly owned by Ken
Isaac and now has opened his
Cycle business. Mr. & Mrs.
Dominion Hotel, Zurich, Mr. &
Mrs. Ken Eagleson held a pre-

for the staff of Usborne Central
School last Friday evening.
Bill Stewardson has arrived
from Saskatchewan to spend the
Christmas season with his
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Willis

visited a couple of days last week
with friends in Detroit.

Toronto, called on Mr. & Mrs.

United Church Sunday School are
busy rehearsing for their
Christmas program which will be
held December 22 at 8 p.m.
Stewart Brown has returned
recently from Florida, he and a
few boy-friends having enjoyed a
two week vacation there.
Mr. & Mrs. Len Allen, Mr. &
Mrs. Louis Merklinger, all of
Windsor; Mr. & Mrs. Graham
Eagleson and family and his
mother, Mrs. Priscilla Eagleson,
were Sunday dinner guests with
Mr, & Mrs. Hugh Eagleson, the
occasion being Mrs. Eagleson's
87th birthday.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken McLinchey
were Christmas dinner guests
last Saturday at the home of his
sister and her husband, Mr. &
Mrs. Ron Carruthers, Thedford.
The standings in the Ausable
Valley Rec hockey league
tightened up considerably as the
result of Sunday's regular twin
bill at the Exeter arena.
The Shipka Bulldogs downed
Ailsa Craig 7-5 and the two teams
are now deadlocked in first place
with nine points apiece.
Lieury swamped Brinsley 11-3
to gain their first points of the
season. Brinsley is in third spot
with four points.
John Becker with a two goal
effort was best for Shipka.
Completing the scoring for the
winners with single goals were
,Bob Galloway, Wayne Desjar-
dine, Jim Dietrich, Randy
Becker and Rene Boogernans.
The Ailsa Craig scoring was led
by Tom Dobbinson's two goal
performance. Checking rin with
one goal apiece were Larry
Dobbinson, Chuck Kennedy and
Gwyn Griffiths.
Wayne Ropp fired three suc-
cessful shots to pace the Lieury
scoring attack. Bob Robinson and
Paul Glavin each contributed a
pair of goals while Sonny Slater,
John Ropp, Jim Butterfield and
Gordon Walsh notched single
scores.
Scoring for Brinsley were Bob
Murray, George Tryon and Bob
Hodgins.
"And when they were come into the house,
they saw the young Child with Mary His
mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him;
and when they had opened their treasures, they
presented unto him gifts, gold, and
frankincense, and myrrh." As on the night
when the Wise Men found the place where He
was, may the story of the first Christmas bring
to us wonder and joy ever new. And may His
message, heard again in song and story, give to
all of us the great gifts of spiritual joy, eternal
hope and promise.
Lucan wins
from Park
Recent real estate transactions
Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Curts,
who sold their farm in the spring
to Jerry Smith, have moved to
Grand Bend, having built a new
home in Greenacres. Mr. & Mrs,
Mel. Smith are living in their
former home.
Manuel Curts and Miss Evelyn
Curts moved to their new home at
the Greenway Curve recently.
Mr, & Mrs. Cor. Vandenberk,
who purchased the Curts' farm,
are now living there with their
children, Cindy and Richard.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Eagleson have
built a new home on his father's
farm, one mile west of Greenway
and moved from their apartment
in Exeter to take up residence
there.
More high scores
in Rec Rec league
High scores again featured
play in the Exeter and district
Rec hockey league, Thursday
night.
The Bank Boys trounced the
Juveniles 11-3 and Newby Tire
ran roughshod over the Vikings
by a score of 15-2.
George Bruneau was the top
goal producer for the Bank Boys
with a hat trick performance.
Next in line with two goals each
were Fred Wells, Rick McDonald
and Pete Lawson. Single scores
were notched by Pete Mason and
Lewis Mitchell.
Scoring in single fashion were
Bill Van Bergen, John Musser
and Dennis Doidge,
Craig Davidson hit the net with
four shots to pace the Newby Tire
scoring a ttaack.
Ed Kerslake and Bob Mc-
donald each scored three times
while Mike Cushman registered
two goals. Single goals were fired
by Doug McBride, Jim Mac-
donald and Jordan.
Pete McFalls and Gary
Balsdon were the marksmen for
the Vikings.

lead changes
Another change took place this
week in the leaders of the first
draw of the Exeter men's curling
club. This time it occurred in the
Thursday division with Glenn
Fisher's taking over first place
with 45 points. Lorne Passmore's
group had dropped back to
second with a point total of 41.
Ross Hodgert and his foursome
continue to lead the Monday
curlers with 591 2 points. In
second place is Doug Parsons and
his rink with 54 points.
A point total of 54 gives Robbie
Robichaud and his rink
possession of first place among
the Tuesday competitors. Dick
Jermyn's rink with 51 points is in
the runner-up position.

In a Wednesday Shamrock
league triple header, Lucan
downed Huron Park in two games
while the third contest ended in a
2-2 tie between the two midget
clubs.
The pee wee game was very
close with Lucan winning 6-5
while the bantam score was 8-3
for Lucan
Bruce Hodge scored with only
ten seconds to go in the game to
give Huron Park midgets the 2-2
tie with Lucan. The other Huron
Park counter was fired in the
first period by Matt Muller.
Lucan goals were scored by
Mike Wraith and Jeff Park. The
Huron Park bantam goals in the
11-3 loss were registered by Matt
Muller with two goals and a
single from the stick of Randy
Funston.
Down 6-2 after two periods of
play, the Huron Park pee wees
came roaring back in the third
period and came within one goal
of knotting the count.
Donald Ernest scored twice to
lead the Huron Pa attack,
Adding singles were Mark
Cronyn, Randy Somerville and
Bob Stuckless.
In an early series, Lambeth
swept three games from Huron
Park, winning the pee wee
contest 7-4, the bantam game 9.2
and the midget tilt by a 11-0
romp.
Randy Somerville was a two
goal scorer for Huron Park with
Donald Ernst and Robert Regier
notching one goal apiece.
Randy Funston scored both
Huron Park Bantam goals.
