At its regular meeting this week the Middlesex County Board of Education authorized its adminigtrative officials to prepare a school maintenance program in connection with the provincial-municipal employ. ment incentive program,. The employment program runs from November 1, 1971 to May 31, 1972 and requires that labour be recruited 60 percent from em- ployable welfare reeipierits and 450 percent from other unem- ployed. The county board has been given an allotment of $17,600 and an extensive school painting program is being considered. The board, in other business, decided not to change its policy governing student fund-raising, as requested by students at the November 15 board meeting. The Board felt that its policy, which had been revised last summer, was '''sufficiently flexible to overcome objections raised by the students since it provides for approval of campaigns by the Director of Education on the recommendation of the school principal. Walkathons and door-to-door sales campaigns do not receive blanket approval but they may be Gets business loan Vincent Farm Equipment Limited of Seaforth will receive an Ontario Development Cor- poration small business loan, according to an announcement by the Honourable Allan Grossman, Minister of Trade and Development. The company, engaged in the servicing and sales of farm equipment, will construct a new building with office and sales areas, warehousing and full service facilities. When construction is com- pleted, additional employees will be needed, conducted "with the special approval of the Director of Education on the recom- mendation of the principal concerned," Other types of fund- raising activities "such as local car washes and sales within the school may be approved by the Principal concerned." Among reports received by the Board was one concerning ac- commodation for South Mid- dlesex students who attend London city schools. It indicated that forecast enrolment and accommodation of London and Middlesex Boards suggest that neither Board will need to Wilda new secondary school before 1975, as it seems certain that the London system will be able to accommodate the South Mid- dlesex students until then. Middlesex Board had previously set 1974 as a tentative target date for construction of a new South Middlesex Secondary school, Representatives of each Board will continue to meet annually to study the situation and make appropriate recom- mendations, Pecerribior 16e 1971 P/19* 4 To create employment Viae Oat )1ZeoefideUede All varieties of plants fresh flower * and artificial arrangements Candle and Christmas arrangements flowers wire any where PALMER'S • FLOWERS (formerly Reder's) Two provincial titles Honor Dashwood ball entertained the group and in- troduced all the coaches who in turn introduced their prize teams.
