patient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, for the past couple of
weeks returned to her home this
week.

Eric Luther, chairman of the
CNIB canvass for Hensall, states
the canvass on behalf of the
Canadian National Institute for
the Blind has been the most
successful to date with the total
amount being $630.37,
The assistance of the Hensall
Women's Institute, the Women's
Auxiliary and the Arnold Circle
was much appreciated.

Mrs. M. Lamond was guest
speaker at the November
meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society of Knox
Church, Mitchell. She gave an
account of her trip to Nigeria and
South Africa.
Ten ladies met at the home of
Mrs. Charles Douglas for
women's short course on Ontario
fruits. The course was taught by
Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. John
Wallace.
Janet Ballantyne of London
spent the weekend with Mrs.
Grace Scott.
Mrs. J. Van Valkengoed was a
patient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, recently,
New Expression
at Hensall UC
A large crowd attended Hensall
United Church Sunday morning
for the special youth service
featuring the "New Expression"
from Thorndale.
Conducting the service were
Cathy Cook, Joan Goddard, Doug
Mock and John Blackwell,
At the conclusion coffee and
refreshments were served in
Fellowship Hall.
In the evening a Coffee House
was held, again featuring the
"New Expression" along with
several other guests from the
area.

Chester Archibald, the ad-
ministrator, spoke briefly to the
ladies and discussed the
possibility of buying a used loom
for making of mats at the Home,
The Christmas fair for the
residents is to be held December
6. It was reported Mrs. Johnston
sent out 12 letters to different
organizations asking help for this
event. Some cash donations have
already been received.
It was decided to purchase
three bushels of apples to be
given to the residents at
Valentines day instead of
Christmas gifts.
Bob Taylor was asked if he
could get help for Mr. Leischman
with the Huronview News.
There is an urgent need for
volunteers to help with the
Christmas fair. Blyth and Clinton
ladies have offered to come and
assist in the morning.
The Auxiliary was asked to
purchase one dozen cups and
saucers before the March
meeting.
Offering was taken and the
meeting closed with the Institute
grace. Several ladies helped quilt
while attending this meeting. # )

Mrs. Lou Simpson passed away
at South Huron Hospital,
November 26, 1971, in her 82nd
year. She was the former
Catherine Louise Bonthron.
Surviving are one son, William,
Birmingham, Michigan, and one
daughter, Mrs. A.J. (Mae) Voth,
Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Also
surviving are four grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren.
Private funeral services were
held at Hensall Union Cemetery
chapel November 29, with Rev.
Don Beck officiating.
Interment was in Hensall
Union Cemetery.
