Saturday was a routine day
for most everyone except the hair

Around these places of business
there seemed to be a steady

was very easy to figure out why
all the hair appointments. These
ladies sure looked their best for
(he occasion. Someone mentioned
that Bill Elliot even had a little
curl in his hair where there
wasn't one before (curl that is).
There were some people there
from Kitchener, one lady from
Brampton and a couple from
Chatham. The rest of the crowd
was made up of people from very
close to home.

Tim Culbert. Above, Tim receives his award from club president

Church did a great job of feeding
us once again. They must have a
few imports to help them, even
so it's hard to believe so many
good cooks could come from the
same community.
I feel sure most of those people
will go sailing into Heaven on a
pie plate maybe with the ex-
ception of Harry Carrol and
I leber Davis who will likely go on
a motorized crib board. Thanks
to such a few is still extended to
you by so many.
After the dinner there was the
presentation of the trophies. It is
once again in order to thank all
those people who have donated
these trophies to our club over the
past six years.
Club president Willy Vanneste
made 'the most trips to the
awards table taking back 13
trophies including the Frank
Hardy Memorial.
These prizes were donated by
C. llaskett and Son, C. H. Lewis,
England's Auto Body, Ken
Carter, Don Smith, Alton Isaac,
Earl Lippert, Clare Hatt,
Shillelagh Motel, Langford
Lumber, Empire Wallpaper.
Norm Hardy was close behind
winning six race trophies along
with prizes for the best old bird
and the best yearling.
Donors were Scott's Elevators,
Centralia Farmers, Credit Union,
International Harvester, Culbert
Decorating, Lucan Produce,
Hardy Bros. and Nevin Motors.

received the largest trophy
available from Harry Loyens of

the race from Tweed. Birds from
the Winters loft also captured two
Harry Hardy Insurance trophies
for races from Kitchener.

Hardy.
Jack Hardy had the best young
bird and won the McFalls
Transport award in winning the
Cobourv, race.
Bill Innis won the Avon trophy,
Mert Culbert won the Corbett &
Young award, Tim Culbert's bird
was home first from Tweed for
the club trophy and Dwight
Henderson won a prize for
placing second the most times.
After the presentation of the
trophies we had a draw for some
door prizes. Carol Hardy had
spent the last two weeks getting
these prizes and wrapping them.
All the people in our club owe
Carol a lot for the way she
worked to make this such a
success. You would have owed
her a heck of a lot more if I hadn't
asked her to stop buying, She
liked those Christmas center
pieces so much she wanted to

give one to every lady that came
in the door. Maybe some day we
could afford to do that, but not
until they get to sell for less than
$9.50 each.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Haugh of the
Exeter T-A were there for the
l'irst part of the evening. I wanted
to have a dance with Mrs. Haugh
but Ross is just like a pet
squirrel, he will eat and run
every time.
If there is anyone who was not
either praised or criticized in this
issue please inform our president
and he will help if he can. I am
sorry for those who were not able
to get tickets, but if the arena

there may be room for everyone
