WE GOOFED
No, Bob and Iry didn't paint themselves into a corner. The situation is
even more embarrassing than that. They agreed they needed to order some more
lamps, now that people have moved back inside their homes for the fall and
winter months. They agreed they should increase their stock of lamps so there
would be a wider selection for area home owners.
So, how did such an agreeable pair get caught in an embarrassing
situation? It was easy! They just forget to agree on which one should place the
order for lamps.
You guessed it! They both ordered lamps. When the sales representative
for Singer Lamp Co, arrived, Bob remembered the discussion and ordered a
wider. selection of lamps. He failed to mention the fact to Irv. When the sales
representative from Engel Lamp Co. arrived, Iry remembered the discussion and
ordered a wider selection of lamps. He failed to mention the fact to Bob.
It didn't take long for them to discover the problem. The packing boxes
arrived and it soon became evident what had happened. Now the store is bulging
with lamps.
