In the third period, the Jets
outscored the opposition by three
goals to two. Terry Bourne and
Dick Doughty each registered
their second goals of the af-
ternoon, Steve Proctor completed
the game scoring with a suc-
cessful shot on a three-way effort
with 'Bourne and Robb.
Ron Baird and Jeff Ebdon were
the third period marksmen for
Delhi-Langton.

The newest hockey team in the
area, the Lucan Merchants
played their first game of the
season Tuesday night.
The Merchants, competing in
Western Ontario Athletic
Association Intermediate "C"
action dropped a close 3-2
decision to the Kincardine
Bulldogs at the Lucan arena.
Doug McConnell and Gary
Leger were the goal getters for
the Merchants in their opening
contest.

comfortable lead in the Exeter
Legion mixed dart league,
The Sharpshooters are well out
in front with 30 points while the
Late -Niters and D J's are
deadlock in second with 27 points
apiece,The doublers are fourth
with 25 points and the BA's are in
fifth spot, another two points
back.
A tie exists in the men's
section of the most games won,
Alex Jackson and Don Appleby
each have 14 victories to their
creclit.BarbHeartileads the ladies
with 10 wins,
Jake Lindenfield has taken
over the high score for men with
156 while Anita Hunter and Sue
Edginton are best for the ladies
with 140 each.

The 1., tican-Ilder ton Leta
continued their winning ways,
posting two victories, both by
convincing scores during the
week,
Friday night at the Huron Park
arena, the ,Jets downed
Woolworth's of the Stratford City
league by a 9-3 score and Sunday
afternoon the score was the same
as the Jets defeated the Delhi-
Langton Leafs.
While the Jets are not entered
in a regular league they have
scheduled games with top notch
opposition during the next couple
of months.
This weekend, the Lucan-
Ilderton club travels to Erie,
Pennsylvania to take on the Erie
Lions, a semi-pro club in Friday
and Saturday night contests.
Tuesday night they will be back
at the Huron Park arena to meet
the Ingersoll Marlands, a top
notch Intermediate "B" club.
The following Friday night, the
Jets will host the Aylmer Blues.
While all games are of an
exhibition nature, all regulations
of the OHA must be adhered to
when playing clubs entered in the
Ontario Hockey Association,
Coach leads
Playing coach Jack Nairn led
the Jet scoring machine in
Sunday's 9-3 win over Delhi-
Langton, Nairn scored three
times, with all goals coming in
the first period. Line-mates Steve
Storey and Doug Galloway each
picked up a pair of assists on the
scores by the coach.
The other Jet goal in the first
period was fired by Terry Bourne
with Jamie Robb helping set up
the play.
In the second period, Gary
Hagerman of the visitors was
able to get the puck past Don
Stewart in the L-I nets.
The Jets tallied twice in the
same period to hold a 6-1 edge as
the clubs headed for the second

In the first novice house-league
game, Saturday, the Montreal
team easily defeated the Van-
couver Canucks 6.2,
Montreal goals were scored by
I;rian Mercer with a "hat trick",
Dave Robinson with two and
Philip McLeod who scored the
si ngle.
Danny Bell scored both goals
for the defeated Vancouver team.
In a close second game the
powerful Boston team defeated
New York in a very vlose game,
2-0. David Atthill and Jeff Newby
scored singles for the victorious
Boston team.
The Black Hawks emerged
victorious in the first game in the
pee wee house-league. Led by
Perry Pooley with two goals the
131,kk Hawks defeated the
Barracudas 5-3. Bill Datars,
Fred Robinson, and Eugene
Clark scored singles. Brad
Taylor, Steve Baynham, and
Randy Fisher each scored a goal
for the Barracudas.
The Bruins easily defeated the
Mustangs 5-1. Randy Parsons
withthree goals lead illy Big Bad
Bruins. Darrell Preszcator
scored the other Bruin goals.
Dave Holtzman scored the lone
Mustang goal.
At this very moment,

tripleheader in Lambeth Friday
night, Exeter minor clubs could
accomplish only one win,
The only Exeter victory came
in the bantam contest by a score
of 5-3. The Lambeth pee wees
edged out a 5-4 decision and the
midget game was won by
Lambeth by a 6-0 count,
Ken Pinder scored the winning
goal for Exeter bantam game on
a combination play with Marty
Martens and Randy Regier with
less than two minutes to play,
Brian Taylor was the top
Exeter scorer with a three goal
performance. The other counter
was fired by Howard Schenk,
