.The Anglican Church Women
held. their monthly meeting
Tuesday evening at the home -of
Mrs. Maurice McDonald. It was
special occasion when Mrs. Lloyd
Baker was presented with a
beautiful cup and saucer in ap-
preciation of her years of faithful
service to the Church. Mrs, Glen
Grindlay made the presentation,
Mr. and Mrs. Baker have
recently moved to Arkona and in
spite of a lame ankle Mrs. Baker
was able to attend the meeting,
her daughter Mrs. S. McIntosh
bringing her from Arkona.
United Church
The fourty-fourth anniversary
of the United Church was well
attended when Rev, C. Brittain
was guest minister at both ser-
vices.
A volunteer choir provided the
special music and both junior and
senior choir sang using tam-
berines, piano and organ ac-

The Brownie pack entertained
their mothers last Tuesday
evening, the occasion being the
installation of the members,
The Brownie Commission
from Sarnia attended and after
hearing the Brownie repeat their
prornice and promise the Com-
mission presented them with
their Brownie pin,
Following the ceremony the
girls sang two musical selections.
The Commission taught the
girls a game to play and also
introduced two new songs to
them.
Lunch was served to the guests
by the Brownies and when it was
time for the Commission to leave
the girls sang "Will ye no Come
back Again."
Mrs. Mancy Dunn and Mrs,
Elaine Ford are the leaders of the
Brownie Pack.
. Senior citizens
Seventeen Grand Bend and
area Senior Citizens met Wed-
nesday afternoon in the Legion
Hall,
David Sheppard played two
piano solos and Mrs. Wm. Love
read a poem entitled the
`Equalizer'. Mrs, C, Reeves also
entertained with a reading en-
titled 'Mother Shipton's
Prophesy.'
The president. William Love
presided over the business period
with minutes read and the
financial report approved.

The November meeting of the
United Church Women was held
Thursday evening with Mrs. Ray
Cann as hostess.
Mrs. Reg Hodgert was in
charge of the meeting of which
the Theme was "Remembrance
Day". The call to worship,
scripture was given by Mrs.
Donald Bray and Mrs. Reg
Hodgert gave the meditation and

for the meeting of which the
Theme was "Kindness". Call to
worship, prayer, scripture and
meditation was given by Mrs.
William Rohde; poem "A Far-
mers Thanksgiving Prayer" by
Mrs. Edwin Miller; piano solo
and a poem "Don't You Quit" by
Mrs. Rohde; a story "A Gift" by
Mrs. Donald Bray.
Mrs. Miner took charge of the
Bible Study and skit with Rev,
Stewart Miner and Jack Stewart
taking part of the two brothers
"in The Prodigal Son" and a

took place.
Business was conducted by the
president, Mrs. Edwin Miller.
A contest was then enjoyed.

Layman's Sunday
Layman's Sunday was held on
November 7 with a good crowd in
attendance. Rev. Stewart Miner
was in charge of the service.
Arnold Cann read the scripture
lesson and Barry Jeffery led in
prayer.
Allan Taylor Exeter, told the
Children's Story about a shoe.
The Men's Choir sang "The
Church In The Wildwood."
Mr. Arnold Mathers and Mr.
Allan Taylor, Exeter took as their
sermon "Concern For Others"
with Ruth Bray, Brenda Hodgert
and Donna Stewart assisting with
placards.
prayer, A story on Rembrance
was read by Mrs. Donald Bray
and a story "Cross of Iron" by
Mrs. Jack Stewart and a poem
"Live For Peace"; story Mrs.
William Snow. The topic, "Story
on Mexico" was capably given by
Mrs. Reg Hodgert.
Mrs. Floyd Stewart conducted
the business. It was decided
Group 2 would cater to the
Teacher's Federation Banquet in
November and Group 3 would
cater to the council banquet in
December.
Group 1 are supplying the
lunch on November 21 when the
Christian Education Workers
Leadership training sessions will
take place under the leadership
of Rev. Morley Clarke, London.
Mrs, Jack Duncan gave the
slate of Officers for 1972.
