WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD Mothers were entertained at the final meeting of the Huron- dale I, Dairy Darlings, held October 18 in the church basement. The leaders, Mrs. Glen. Stewart and Darlene Passmore discussed milk and other dairy foods that are so much a part of everyday Canadian meals. Plans were made for the exhibit to be shown on Achievement Day November 6. Judith Cann and Darlene Passmore demonstrated how to bake cream puffs. The cream puffs and hot chocolate were enjoyed by all. Hallowe'en party A hallowe'en party was held Saturday afternoon in the church basement under the leadership of Barbara Miller, Beverley Passmore and Sylvia Stewart. Mrs. Larry Ballantyne and Beverley Passmore were the judges for the following costumes: ghosts, Larry Dawson, Alan Hodgert; old people, Brenda Ballantyne, Michael Stewart; clowns, Dennis Pym; pumpkins, Brent Dawson, Pat Hodgert. Special class, Diane Hodgert, Donna Stewart; fancy dress, Lori Lynn Stewart, Ruth Bray; best lady, Ken Miller, Jeff Borland; Miscellaneous, Cheryl Stewart, Robbie Miller. There were 30 children and adults present. Presentations Friday evening 19 members of the choir and the organist paid a surprise visit to the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Cann to honor Mrs. Cann on her retirement as leader of the choir. She has been leader for twenty years. Court Whist was played. Miss Doris Elford read an address and Miss Agnes Bray presented Mrs. Cann with an engraved gold pen and pencil set. Mrs. Cann replied, and lunch was then served which brought an enjoyable evening to a close. Both Birthday Saturday evening, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Duncan entertained Mrs. Gilbert Duncan on the occasion of her 80th birthday. Sympathy is extended to Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Stewart and family in the passing of Mrs. Stewart's father, the late Alvin Schieck, Drayton.
