MR. & MRS. WM, PASSIVIORE, Proprietors NORM WHITING, Auctioneer Phone 235-1864 42e By MRS. FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA A large congregation, including many visitors, attended the annual Thank-Offering service in the United Church Sunday morning with the Rev. J. T. Beaton conducting the service. In his sermon Rev. Beaton made reference to the laying of the corner stone fifty years ago and of the sacrifices made by the people in the building of the new church. Not only did they feel the need for a place to Worship but they wanted to provide a place for future generations. The minister asked, "What mean these stones to you? Why continue to maintain a church? Are we in danger of putting the Master to death through our indifference?" Special music included a double duet by Mrs. Ray Mills and sisters Bonnie, Robin and Faye Blair, an anthem by the choir and a solo by Mrs. Russell Wilson. The offertory music was an organ and piano duet by Mrs. K. Hodgins and Marikay.
