a few days last week visiting
their daughter and family, Mr. &
Mrs. Ross MacMillan in
Waterloo and while there at-
tended the Artist's Mart in the
Art Gallery. Their daughter was
chairman of this years'
exhibition. They also visited Dr.
& Mrs. J.E. Spellman in Kit-
chener, and Mr. & Mrs. Donald
Fedy and family in Waterloo on
Sunday.
Mrs. Maud McKeon, England
and Washington is visiting a few
days with Mr. & Mrs. Carl Payne.
Mrs. Orville Smith is a patient
in South Huron Hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Bert Horton
visited over the weekend with
their son-in-law and daughter Mr.
& Mrs. Allen Busche and family
in London.
Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Chapman
visited last week with their son-
in-law and daughter Mr. &.Mrs.

There was fun and laughter
when Kippen East Women's
Institute met at the Legion Hall,
Hensall, for the Agriculture
meeting. Members came attired
in shorts, slacks, night attire,
aprons , field and barn clothes
complete with rubber boots and
dirty faces. These were the
outfits the ladies were wearing
when they were called about the
meeting.

earliest called, Mrs. G. McLean;
the latest called, Mrs. A.

Hensall has just installed a direct
line from the home to the alarm
system of the fire hall in Hensall.
In case of fire, the siren will
activate automatically.
Installing team
at Exeter meeting
The regular meeting of Amber
Rebekah Lodge was held Wed-
nesday evening with Mrs.
Dorothy Beaton, Vice Grand,
presiding in the absence of Mrs
Olga Cliipchase, Noble Grand.
She was assisted by Mrs.'
Myrtle Orr, who reported for the
Finance Committee. Mrs. Beaton
reported for the visiting com-
mittee.
Following the regular business
of the meeting, the District
Deputy President, Mrs. Ruby
Bell, and installing staff attended
the meeting of Pride of Huron
Lodge, Exeter and installed their
officers.
Special services
at United church
Sunday, at 11 a.m. both the
Hensall and Chiselhurst
congregations will combine for a
special service in the Hensall
Church sponsored by the United
Church Women.
Rev. Susan Seymour of
Granton will be the guest
speaker, with women of the two
churches participating.
Pam Sangster
gets award
Miss Pamela Sangster,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. David
Sangster received her Ontario
Scholarship at SALD.H.S. Friday
evening. During the summer
months Pam Was employed by
the Department of the
Environment in a field study
program With the Junior Con-
servationists and is presently
studying Geology at Sir Sandford
Fleming College in Lindsay.
When I asked my class to write
out the Ten Commandments, one
boy put down, for the Fifth
Commandment, "Humor thy
father a n d thy mother,"

ficiated at a ceremony in Hensall
United Church, October 9, 1971,
which united in marriage Bonnie
Marie Kay and Grant Edward
Walker. Parents of the young
couple are Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Kay,
London, and Mr. & Mrs, George
Walker, Hensall,
Mrs. John Turkheim, Zurich,
played the wedding music on the
organ and accompanied the
soloist, Gary Scholl, London,
The bride was escorted down
the aisle by her father and wore a
gown of white lagoda 'in empire
style with Victorian neckline, A-
line skirt and Juliette sleeves. It
was trimmed with Swiss lace and
pearls, The bridal costume was
completed by a softly draping
chapel length train and a Spanish
mantilla. Her bouquet was of
yellow roses.
Her attendants were Rose
Hottot, Nancy Kay, Ruth
Everdell, Port Hope and Kathy
Munn, They wore dresses of gold
net over white peau de soi and
carried yellow roses and white
carnations.
Richard Buchanan was best
man, while Ralph Logan, Craig
Chapman and Murray Walker

gray and white jump suit with-
matching long vest and red ac-
cessories for a wedding trip to
Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Walker are
residing at 1136 Adelaide Street,
London.
TRAQUAIR — SANGSTER
October 16, in Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Hensall,
candelabra, and blue, mauve and
white chrysanthemums provided
the background for the marriage
of Linda Carol Sangster to
Gerald Douglas Traquair.
Parents of the couple are Mr. &
Mrs. John Sangster, Hensall, and
Mr. & Mrs. Murray Traquair, RR
2, Kippen.
Rev. Wilfred Jarvis officiated
while Mrs. M. Dougall supplied
traditional wedding music in
addition to the theme songs from
'Exodus' and 'Romeo and Juliet,'
- The bride, escorted by her
father wore a gown of polyester
crepe du charme featuring a
daisy-appliqued bodice, A-line
skirt and full sleeves. Flowing
from a blue waist band the
cathedral train displayed a
double row of daisies. A blue and
white floral headpiece completed
the ensemble and she carried a
spray of mauve mums, blue and
white shasta daisies.
Maid of honor for her cousin,
Monica Peebles, and
bridesmaids, Bonnie Sangster,
sister of the bride, and Nancy
Traquair, sister of the groom,
were gowned alike in copen blue,
polyester crepe creations with
white crocheted lace pilgrim
bibs and cuffs. They carried
colonial clusters of blue, mauve
and white shasta daisies.
Best man for his brother was
James Traquair, Edmonton,
while Paul Munn, and Earl
McNab, acted as ushers,
Following the wedding dinner,
held in the church parlour an
evening reception in the Hensall
Community Arena was held with
music by the Ken Scott
Orchestra.
For a wedding trip to Cave
City, Kentucky, the bride
changed to a brown pantsuit with
ivory crocheted trim.
The newlyweds have taken up
residence in their new home at
RR 2, Kippen.

discussed pollution at it concerns
agriculture and the use of
pesticides.
Mrs. D. Brodie gave the motto,
"The peace of the world depends
on food". The roll call was, "One
way in which changing
agriculture is changing our
lives." Mrs. D. Adams gave
reading "October's Bright Blue
Weather" and Mrs. R. Bell
conducted an action reading. The
B & D children sang several
songs.
Reports were given by Mrs. if
Caldwell and Mrs. R. Bell of the
area convention and Mrs. M.
Connolly and Mrs. Bell gave
reports of the rally.
Mrs. Alderdice reported an
Home Economics and Health;
Mrs. K. McKay , Citizenship and
Education and Mrs. S. Pepper on
Sewing with Knits.
A donation was made to the
Erland Lee Homestead and
members were reminded of the
banquet at Dashwood Industries.
A silent auction followed the
meeting. Mrs. R. Bell had charge
of the business and Mrs. Brodie
the program. Mrs. A. McGregor
and Mrs. D. Adams were
hostesses.
Former resident
dies in London
William J. Harvey of London,
formerly of the Hensall area,
passed away October 21st at St.
Joseph's Hospital. He was 67.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Irene Taylor; two
brothers, Gordon and Ted of
Michigan, U.S.A. one sister,
Mrs. Harvey (Gladys) McLarnon
of Seaforth.
Public funeral services were
held at Bonthron's Funeral
Home, Sunday and were con-
ducted by Rev., W.D. Jarvis.
Interment was in Bairds
cemetery,

Kippen I Dazzling Dairy Gals
met at the home of Jo Anne Van
Wieren. At this meeting it was
decided who would be in the
achievement day skit,
Karen. Ferris demonstrated
how to make cheese cake and

milk for everyone's approval,
