Apple pie was the feature of the
fifth meeting of the Staffa Froot
Loops, held at the home of Mrs.
Charles Douglas. Lorraine Laing
conducted the business. The next
meeting will be held Wednesday
at 7;30 p.m.
Group 2 and 3 prepared apple
pies, one from bought pie filling
and pie crust mix, the other
homemade. They decided the
homemade product was much
cheaper and better tasting.
Cheese straws and jelly straws
were made with left over pastry.
Mrs. Douglas discussed figs
and avocados. Lorraine Laing,
Marilyn Laing and Cheryl Riley
gave reports on apricots, plums
and strawberries respectively.
Lunch of apple pie and cheese
straws was served.

Dear Sir:
On many occasions I have
heard members of my generation
criticize members of the younger
generation, and I suppose if I
were to be absolutely honest, I
too am guilty of putting forth
criticism towards youth and all
they are doing and not doing.
However, I wish to make a little
amend in this direction and make
known to you one group of young
people, who unselfishly gave up
their weekend at home and
assisted in a recent canvass for a
charitable organization.
To the students of Centralia
College of Agricultural
Technology, Huron Park, I wish
to express my most sincere
"thank you" for giving of their
time,
They accepted the challenge
with great enthusiasm in doing
the canvass for the Canadian
Arthritic and Rheumatism
Society in Huron Park, Centralia,
and Crediton on the evening of
October I.
The canvass netted $318. a
tribute to those who gave and a
tribute to you, who proved, given
a little understanding and a
challenge you can do the job now
and in the future.
Yours very truly
