annual conference last week in
Toronto,
More than 350 doctors and
wives attended the conference
and heard guest lecturers from
New York and California present
papers on psychology and
"whiplash" .automobile injuries.
Pr, Wood, son-in-law of Mrs,
Alvin McBride, Exeter, has
practiced in Clinton since 1958,
and in July was honoured with
the "Chiropractor of the Year"
award for Canada, by the
Chiropractic Research Foun-
dation, Dallas, Texas.
This award is presented an-
nually in recognition for out-
standing contributions to the
science of chiropractic,

Centralia women watch
films and talk on Africa

The U.C,W. resumed their
activities for the fall term
Tuesday evening with a pot 414
dinner. Mrs. Wm Brenner and
Mrs, Gerry Kading reported their
experiences at the School for
Women held at Alma College.
Plans were also completed for
a fowl supper in November.
During the fall the ladies will
be responsible for a birthday
party at the Bluewater Rest
Home, Christmas goodies will be
sent to the Irwlns in Korea and
the Paul Webb's in Hong Kong.
CONSERVATIVES MEET
A group of Grand Bend citizens
went by bus to Petrolia Wed-
nesday evening to attend the
Progressive Conservative
nomination meeting.
Wm. Thomson with his ac-
cordion and Mr. Douglas Martin
on the drums entertained en
route.
Lorne Henderson, who
represented the county in the
Legislature last term, was
named to control the riding

the form of a Family Night
Thursday evening of next week at
8:30 in the schoolroom of the
church with Zion West as guests,
Cyril Gingerich of Zurich will
show colored slides to illustrate
his talk on Africa.

The annual Achievement Day
of the Parkhill-Ailsa Craig 4-H
dairy calf club was held Friday in
conjunction with the Parkhill
Fair.

each won a red ribbon with Eddie
Groenewegen,Jim Dixon and Ann
Brebner takingsecondprizes and
Danny and Susan Hardy third.
With Guernsey calves, Ruth
Coursey was the winner with
Robert Marshall second and Ron
Lee in third spot.
The grand champion showman
was Ruth Coursey with Bruce
McGregor declared the reserve
champ.
In senior showmanship, the
4 first prize winners were Ruth
Coursey, Paul Hodgins and
Patricia Hodgins.
Second prize group winners
were Ann Brebner, Susan Hardy
and Danny Hardy.
The junior showmanship first
prize group winners were Jim
Dixon and Ron Lee while Eddie
Groenewegen and Robert
Marshall finished second.

Rev, and Mrs. R. V. Wilson who
have been at their cottage at Port
Carling since his retirement from
the ministry at the end of June
were Sunday callers at the home
of Mr, & Mrs. Ken Greb before
leaving on a three week trip to
England and Spain.

the anniversary service in the
Zion West United Church Sunday.

London Thursday evening to pay
respect to the late Alfred White.
On Friday the ladies with Mrs. R.

funeral. Mr. White a veteran of
World War I was the husband of
Myrta Brown a former Centralia
girl.
Mrs. Wm. Haddock is a patient
in South Huron Hospital having

plowing match will be held
Saturday, October 9 at the farm
of Jamieson Ribey in Colborne
township.
The Ribey farm is situated one
mile and a half west of Carlow on
Huron road 25 and the same
distance north,
A total of ten classes are open
for Huron County farmers,
Numerous Exeter and district
businesses are providing prizes
for the various events.
J. F. Farm Machinery of
Exeter provides the first prize for
boys and girls under 19 years of
age in a tractor class.
A bushel of seed corn and $5
from the Exeter district Co-Op
goes to the winner of class 8 for
Huron County residents only.
A similar prize donated by
Cann's Mill will go to the best in
the special open utility class and
a $25 cash award from
Kongskilde Ltd. is up for tractors
drawing four plows or more.
Maurice Love of Exeter, who is
past president of the sponsoring
Huron Plowman's Association
donates a trophy to the winner of
the Queen of the Furrow contest.
