Our economy has been faced by continuing
inflationary pressure — this has resulted in sharp increasing
costs for all your goods and services, Your Public Utilities
Commission has also been faced with rapid-rising costs.
In spite of higher use of electrical energy by our
Customers and the adoption of all possible economies of
operation by the Commission, these increased costs are
forcing us to introduce a general upward adjustment in
rates,
The rate schedule shown below will become effective
on all bills issued after December 1, 1971.

Legion Hall the happy couple left
for a wedding trip to Nova Scotia,
the bride wearing a black and
white velvet dress with em-
broidered stitching on the bolero
and skirt.
Mr. .and Mrs. Coolman will
reside at 129 Wellington Cr,
Huron Park. The bride is a
secretary at the Agriculture
College at Huron Park, and the
groom is employed at Hall Lamp
Co., Huron Park.
The Devlin family came here
from Scotland two and a half
years ago.
carried a cascade bouquet of
purple and white mums with
white ribbons.
Maureen Devlin was maid of
honor while Maurene Coolman
and Wendy King were the
bridesmaids. They wore lilac
gowns with white lace trimming
and carried bouquets of white
and purple pom mums with lilac
ribbons.
Gido Coolman was the best
man and the guests were ushered
to their places by Dirk Coolman
and Wayne King.

Jinks and Larry Gerald Dean
Mason, son of Mr, and Mrs.
Gerald Mason RR 3, Dashwood,
The soloist, Judy Mason, sister
of the groom, was accompanied
by Mrs, Ken McCrae who also
played the other wedding music.
The bride was escorted down
the aisle by her brother, Ross
Jinks of London, She wore a white
polyester cashmere gown
featuring an empire waist and
flowing, floor length veil. She
carried red roses and mauve
carnations.
Gail Jinks of London was
bridesmaid and wore a gown of
purple polyester cassimere with
purple rose buds in her hair. Her
flowers were white roses and
mauve carnations.
Ron Mason was his brother's
best mart, and Bill Jinks, London,
and John Mason, Dashwood were
the ushers.
After the wedding reception at
Dashwood Community Centre,
the bride changed into a white
dress with black accessories to
honeymoon through the United
States.
The future home of the young
couple will be Dashwood.
Before the wedding, the bride
was honored at a bridal shower
hosted by Miss Bonnie Mason,
Dashwood.
Dietrich, London, at the organ,
and Mary Pitt, also of London, as
soloist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a princess-
styled gown of polyester crepe
with small stand-up collar and
long puffy sleeves, Trimming
was lily-of-the-valley lace around
the collar, bodice, sleeves and
skirt. A long train, attached at
the shoulders, gave a hooded
effect. Her tiered veil was held
by a flowered headpiece and she
carried a cascade of orange and
white roses.
The bride was attended by
Wendy Trainor, St, Thomas and
Mary E. Carey, Toronto. They
wore gowns of patterned
traveera crimplene, styled in the
peasant-look with orange floppy
hats. Their bouquets were yellow
anti bronze mums.
Edward Fox, Parkhill, was
best man, while the ushers were
Adrian Timmermans, Larry
Carey and John Timmermans.
After a reception in the
Parkhill Community Centre the
couple left for a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario, the bride
wearing an A-line dress with
black accessories.
They will reside on the groom's
farm at RR 4, Parkhill.

September 18 of the marriage of
Rita Anne, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Joe Carey, and Tony Cor-
nelius, son of Mr. and Mrs. H,
Timmermans, Parkhill.
Rev. Father J. Mooney of-
ficiated at the wedding mass and
the music was supplied by Paul

Mr. and Mrs. John Devlin, Huron
Park, became the bride of Leon
Joseph Coolman, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Basil Coolman, R.R. 1,
Exeter, before a setting of white
and lilac flowers, in a ceremony
performed by Father Mooney in
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Church, September 18, 1971.
The soloist was Sherry Davis
who was accompanied by Paul
Dietrich on the organ.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was lovely in a
wedding dress of white satin
featuring French lace trimming
down the front and around the
cathedral length train. She

season bargains
1 cup mashed banana with
1 tsp soda dissolvedin_it
tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
11 2 cup pastry flour
Cream the butter, sugar, add
eggs and milk and mashed
banana isalt and vanilla. Bake at
350 degrees in oven. When the .
cake springs back when touched
it's finished.

MARBLE CAKE
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2',2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1, 2 cup milk
1 tbsp. cocoa
3 tsp. milk
Cream butter; add` eggs,
sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Add
sifted flour and baking powder
alternately with milk, Fill cake
tin with two thirds of the mixture.
Using the remainder of the
mixture add cocoa and 3 tsp.
milk. Drop dark mixture on the
white in pan and run fork through
to swirl together. Bake at 350
degrees approximately 50
minutes. Use 8" x 8" pan. •

entertained by their family on the
occasion of their 45th wedding
anniversary, Sunday, at the
Bayview Restaurant, and af-
terwards at the home of their son
and his family, Mr. and Mrs,
Irvin Ford, Grand Bend, The
family attended from London,
Erin and Preston.
Mary Lou Howard has recently
returned from an enjoyable
vacation in Hawaii, where she
expects to return shortly to make
her new home. . ,

Marys, visited Sunday afternoon
with Mr. & Mrs, William
Thomson, Andrew St.
Mr. & Mrs. Milton Sleamon
spent a few days with Mr. &
Mrs,A1 Parker and family at
Midland.
Fall Fair Champion Cook,
Martha Weigand, again shares
two of her prize winning cake
recipes with us.
Last year we printed her recipe
for Bran Muffins, and just this
week we had a note from a reader
in Deep River who wrote to say
she had been using the recipe
ever since and had shared it with
many friends, some as far away
as New Jersey.
So, for those of you who didn't
clip it last year we repeat it once
more.
BRAN MUFFINS
1 egg beaten
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp. soda dissolved
in sour milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup cooking bran
1 tsp. baking powder
Stir, and bake in oven 325
degrees to 350 degrees for 20
minutes, This batter will keep in
the fridge for two or three weeks.
Makes 14 large muffins.
BANANA CAKE
1 2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp. milk

The September meeting of
McGillvray Womens Institute
began with a tour of the Exeter
Canning factory after which all
returned to the home of the
president, Mrs. Tom Kooy for
their meeting which was opened
by repeating the Mary Stewart
Collect,
Roll call, "One thing at which a
top rate citizen should aim," was
answered by members.
Each member brought a
clipping on human rights with a
discussion on each, A number of
visitors were welcomed.
Scripture was read by Mrs.
Earl Morley and a reading Was
given by Mrs, Wes Lewis,
Plans were made for a euchre
to be held in November.
October meeting will be held at
the home of Mrs. Effie Harrison,
Ailsa Craig.
Lunch was served by Mrs, Lela
Allison.
