ACCOUNT?
Most people use chequing accounts.
It's a great way to handle your usual
financial obligations. It can be helpful
in budgeting too, as it allows you to
avoid "pay clay panic."
Paying mortgage or rent, hydro and
utility bills, insurance premiums, taxes
etc. is done in an orderly planned way
right from your own home when you
participate in Personal Chequing.
It's convenience personified. Most
people can anticipate their usual ex-
penses each month. They arrange to
deposit sufficient funds to cover their
monthly budget each pay period. It's
then a simple matter to sit in the com-
fort of your own home and write
cheques as they are required,

Your Credit Union exists only for
the purpose of serving members. A def-

others." Your Board of Directors firm-
ly believe that Personal Chequing is a
fine extension of financial service for
your benefit.
Personal Chequing is a service ac-

affairs. Always remembering why your
Credit Union exists, it was only logical
for your Board of Directors to decide
in favour of this new service for the

.About Your
Pers nal Chequing
Account
1. It's best to keep more than the ac-
tual amount of money you require
for monthly obligations in the ac-
count. A small additional balance
will allow you to write a cheque
for unanticipated purposes. Addi-
tional funds will also help you to
avoid non-sufficient fund cheques,
which are costly and often embar-
rassing.
2. Remember that personal chequing
is strictly a service account. While
it's advisable to maintain a healthy
balance, savings and investments
should be placed in interest bearing
Credit Union accounts.
3, Be certain to sign your cheques the
same as the specimen signature you
leave with your Credit Union when
you open your Personal Chequing
account.
4, Never write a cheque in pencil. Al-
ways use pen and ink or a type-
writer, so figures or names cannot
be altered.
S. Never leave a signed blank cheque
with anyone,
6. Don't forget that your Credit Un-
ion is not allowed to transfer mon-
ey from your share savings account
to your personal chequing account
without your written permission.
