Candles, white and yellow
effectively decorated the church
into which the bride was escorted
by her father. She wore a silk
organza Victorian gown trimmed
with, Swiss. guipure lace appliques
and lilac ribbon. The A-line skirt
formed a chapel length train
from the back waist and her
finger-tip veil was held by a.
eloSter of flowers.. She carried a
white prayer book with yellow
sweetheart roses and
stephanotes,
Btidal attendents were Mrs.
Elaine Parsons, sister .of the
groom,. as matron of honor, while
Jean Glen and Linda Talbot were
the bridesmaids. They were
dressed in lilac culotte gowns
with daisy trim and their
bouquets were of yellow shasla
Mums.
Mrs, Bruce Keys was the
organist and accompanied the
soloist, Peter Postill,
The parents of the young couple
are Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Bieber,
Exeter, and Mr. & Mrs, Leslie
Armstrong, R.& 3, Bayfield,
Guests from Kingston, Dundas,
Ridgetown, %IMO?, Toronto, as
well as local freinds were en-
tertained at dinner in the church
parlours and at the Zurich
Community Centre.
The newly-weds honeymooned
in northern Ontario, the bride
wearing a brushed velvet, purple
hotpants outfit with matching
accessories.
They will reside in Bayfield.
Prior to the wedding, the bride
was entertained at showers given
by Mrs. Wayne Parson, Exeter,
Mrs. John Talbot, Goderich,
Gosehn U.C.W,, and Mrs. Allan
Armstrong.

music. She wore a satin dress in
'Princess lines with long sleenes,
tiny pearl buttons and a wide lace

Robert Green in a pink and
mauve crepe dress in empire
lines. She carried pink and white
carnations and roses. Best Man
was George Hock of Waterloo.
After a wedding tree to Eastern
Ontario the young couple will

Mr. & Mrs, Lloyd Jones en-
tertained at the Colonial Hotel,
Grand Bend, Sunday, The
original wedding party and their
immediate families were
present.
Later they returned to their
home, joining the nieces and
nephews, for the remainder of the
day and a barbecue supper.

wedding was enjoyed by all
Mr, & Mrs. A.J. Sweitzer
visited with Dr. & Mrs. Steiner in
Kendall N.Y. last week.
Mrs, Bert North of Woodstock
visited for a few days with her
sister, Mrs. A.J. Sweitzer.
Mr. & Mrs, David Millar, Mr. &
Mrs. Milton Sleamon visited
Sunday with Mrs. Janie Turnbull,
Aylmer.
New leaders
for Guides
RECENT MARRIAGE — William Charles Malone and Lorna Viola
Hawken were united in marriage at Christ Anglican Church, Forest,
recently. Their parents are Major and Mrs. J. D. Malone (Ret'd),
Huron Park, and Mr. and Mrs. G. LeVerne Hawken, Arkona. A
reception followed the ceremony on the lawns of the Hawken
residence. After honeymooning in Algonquin Park, the young couple
took up residence at The Dorchester Apartments in London. Both
will continue their studies at the University of Western Ontario.

appears the Brownie and Guide
organization in town will be off to
a flying start this season with five
new leaders.
The Guides will meet Thursday
evening in the Scout Hall with
Mrs. Rose Mary Jacobs as their
captain and Debbie Wooden as
lieutenant.
Next Tuesday at 6:30 the
Brownies will reconvene with
Mrs. Susan Bregman as Brown
Owl. She will be assisted by

St. Andrews Junior Folk Choir
sang the wedding music at a
ceremony that united in
marriage Joseph Klunder of
Hamilton and Jane Vandenberk,
Grand Bend. The event was
solemnized at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Roman Catholic Church
by Father Boyer.
Given in marriage by her
father, William Vandenberk Sr.,
the bride wore a gown of sheer
organza over taffetta with high
neckline and semi-empire waist.
The dress was trimmed with
sculptured guipure lace, and a
circular cathedral train, banded
with the same lace, cascaded
from the waist line. She carried
long stemmed gladioli and
assorted flowers.
Bridal attendants were Mrs.
Mary Verheyen, Strathroy, Mrs.
Cathy MacDonald, Chesley, Mrs.
Ted Vanderberk, Monkton, and
Dianne Mulder, Caistor Centre.
They were attired in printed
dresses in shades of purple on
white and carried baskets of
summer flowers.
Jerry Klunder, Brantford, was
best man, while Theo Klunder,
Ton Vandenei and Carl
Besseling, all of Stoney Creek
ushered, After a reception at the
Dashwood Community Centre the
happy couple left on a trip to
Europe.
They will reside on Woodburn

Bambrick of Waterloo were
married Saturday, Sept. 11, 1971
at Zion Lutheran Church, in a
double ring ceremony with Rev.
E.E. Steinman officiating. Pink,
mauve and white gladiolis
decorated the church.
The bride was escorted down
Rev. H.R. Rokeby-ThodaSfilie route taken by the native

north at the combined meeting of
Units III and IV, Exeter, U.C.W.
Mr. Rokeby-Thomas recently
returned from a Canadian
Churchman's Tour of the north.
His slides depicted his travels
from Calgary, through British
Columbia and up the coast by
boat to Alaska.
Of particular interest were
pictures of Trail '98, a little
green, moss like path that winds
up the mountains in Glacier
National Park. This tiny trail is
Indians as they travel through
that section of the country.
He was intrduced by Mrs. Carl
Mills and thanked by Mrs. Robert
Southcott.
Previous to the meeting the
units had met for a smorgasbord
dinner.
Devotionals were conducted by
Mrs. Stanley Frayne and Mrs.
Robert Down who chose the topic,
"Do we want God's kingdom on
earth as it is in heaven?"
During the separate business
meeting the date of the bazaar
was announced as November 13.
The two units will combine
again for their October
Thanksgiving meeting.

bride's mother was displayed.
Units I and II of Exeter United
Church Members started their
fall season with a pot luck lun-
cheon in the church last week.
About 60 ladies attended the
event at which Mrs. Lorne Hicks
showed slides from her recent
world-wide trip. The pictures she
screened were from south-east
Asia and included colorful and
interesting scenes from
Singapore, Thialand, India, New
Zealand, Australia and the
Philipines.
A sing-song, led by Mrs. Roland
McCaffrey, was also part of the
program.

recently prior to her marriage to
William Charles Malone of Huron
Park.
Marilyn Leggat, Flavia
Saunders and Kelly Dillon held a
linen shower for friends from
U.W.O. The girls of third-year
Physical Health and Education,
C.W.O. made a presentation.
Manford Butler and daughter,
Mrs. Carman Levie, Port Elgin,
hosted a presentation party in
Arkona. They were assisted by
Mrs. Harvey Conkey, Mrs. Elmer
Giles, Mrs. John Kilpatrick and
WS. Robert Austin.
Judy Malone was hostess at a
shower in Huron Park and Mr.
and Mrs, Bruce Siddad, Forest,
and Mr. and. Mrs, Gordon
Hawken, Stratford, entertained
at a barbeque at the Siddall
cottage Grand Bend.
Mrs. Hawken held a trousseau
tea in her daughter's honor.
