By MRS. THOMAS HERN
The annual memorial day
service was held at Zion cemetery
Sunday with Rev. Donald Stewart
in charge of the service. Mrs.
Lorne Hern and Nancy Hern
supplied the music.
The flowers in the church and
on the graves and the number of
people who came both in the
morning to the cemetery and in
the afternoon to the church
service are an indication that the
pioneers of this section of the
township have not been forgotten.
Many persons help keep Zion
cemetery a place where people
may come at any time, to
remember and honor their loved
ones.

Bill Brady was true to his word
at Sunday's Midwestern rodeo
show by tackling the toughest
event on the program,
In conversation on CFPL's
Open Line, Friday morning with
rodeo publicity chairman Carf
Cann, Brady agreed to tackle
bulldogging one of the toughest
steers in the herd.
At Brady's request Cann said
he would get a fresh animal that
had never ridden before. Brady
added, "I don't want an animal
that has been worn out by
somebody else.
Cann was true to his word and
when Brady rode out Sunday
afternoon ready for a tough battle
he was confronted by Fritzi who
gave the radio announcer a tough
chase completely around the
rodeo ring before being subdued.
Fritzi turned out to be a bulldog
owned by Heather and Scott
Jamieson of Pryde Boulevard
and Brady's equipment in cap-
turing the dog was a butterfly
net.
Brady used a horse owned by
Janet Ecker of Exeter in order to
get close to Fritzi before finishing
the chore on foot.

MINIATURE BULLDOGGING — Bill Brady's performance at
Sunday's rodeo show turned out a little less dangerous than the
popular radio announcer would have his listeners believe. Brady was
able to capture Fritzi, a bulldog with net as shown at the left. Fritzi
forced Brady to go the length of the ring before being captured.
Above, Brady is with Janet Ecker the owner of the horse and Fred
Darling who introduced the act to the capacity crowd in attendance.
Fritzi is owned by Heather and Scott Jamieson, children of Mr. and
Mrs. Doug Jamieson, Pryde Boulevard, T-A photo
