St. Boniface Roman Catholic
Church, Zurich, decorated with
pink and white gladioli and
mums, was the setting for the
wedding of Sharon Anne Regier
and Donald William Baker when
Father A. Durand performed the
double-ring ceremony, August 28,
1971.
The bride is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs. Anthony T. Regier,
Detroit, and the groom's parents
are Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Baker,
Dashwood,
Sister of the bride, Mrs.
Marilyn Durand, was matron of
honor; bridesmaids were Mrs.
Sharon Rau, Mrs. Lynne
Bockenstette, Mrs. Carol Baker
and Sandra Baker, while Bonnie
Baker acted as the flower girl.
They wore dresses of pink and
intermittent floral stripes with
pink velvet trimming. Pink,
miniature carnations in their hair
and colonial bouquets of car-
nations and mums completed
their outfits.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
fashioned of Swiss embroidered
organza with attached train. Her
shoulder length veil was held by a
two-tiered crown of pearls and
her bouquet was of pink roses and
stephanotis.
The wedding music was
provided by Mrs. Patricia
Meidinger of Zurich.
Groomsman was Ronald
Mason, and Anthony D. Regier,
Ken Baker, Dave Durand and
Gary Baker ushered the gues
The reception was held at t
Dashwood Community Centre
with Ken Ducharme and
Bluewater Playboys supplying
the music. Master of ceremonies
was Larry Mason.
After a honeymoon through
northern Michigan and Ontario
the couple will reside at Shipka.
For travelling the bride wore a
navy and white pant dress with
red accessories.

Schenk, Dashwood, was recently
married to Robert William
Green, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Green, Huron Park, at a
ceremony at Exeter United
Church with Rev. Hugh C. Wilson
officiating.
The bride was given in
marriage by her brother, Jack
Schenk, and wore a lace over
polyester crepe gown in Empire
lines.
The couple were attended by
Doris Webb, wearing a dress of
green organza, and Joseph
Wragg.
After a reception at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich, Mr. &
Mrs. Green left for a honeymoon
in the north.
They will reside at Huron Park.

Escorted by her father, the
bride entered the church, which
was decorated with candles and
white and pink gladioli, wearing
an empire-styled gown of
georgette over delustered satin.
The trimming on the gown and
train was eyelekmnbroidery and

basket of pink roses and sprays of
blue cornflowers.
Mrs, John Taras wav the
matron of honor, Mrs. James
Kerton was bridesmaid and Julie
and Jill Armstrong acted as the

gowned alike in silk organza over
satin dresses, trimmed with
daisies, with blue picture hats.
They carried gathering baskets
with pink carnations and corn-
flowers.
William Elliott, brother of the
bride, sang traditional wedding
solos.
Attending the groom were Abe
Van Sligtenhorst and Rick Van
Sligtenhorst, while Larry Pfaff
and John Kreeft ushered the
guests.
After the wedding reception,
which was held in the church
parlours, the newly-weds left for
a northern honeymoon, the bride
wearing a sheer nylon dress in
shades of brown and white with
brown accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Sligtenhorst
will reside in Cobourg.

Couple feted
for anniversary
Mr, & Mrs. Thomas K. Patten
RR 3, Lucan, Ontario celebrated
their golden wedding an-
niversary one month early due to
family travel.
To celebrate the event, the
couple were feted at an an-
niversary mass celebrated by
Rev. Father J. McGraw at St.
Patrick's Church, Lucan,
followed by dinner and open
house at the Shillelagh Motor
Hotel in Lucan.
Mr. and Mrs. Patten are
residents of Biddulph township.
Formerly Genevieve Marie ( Eva)
Kelly, the bride of 50 years ago is
the eldest daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly, Dublin.
Her husband, a son of the late Mr.
& Mrs. Stephen Patten, Lucan,
was born on a farm adjoining the
one where the couple still reside.
The late Rev. Father T.
Noonan, priest of St. Patrick's,
Dublin, married the couple on
September 28, 1921.
Although Mr. Patten has
ceased to do the heavy operation
of the farm, he still does the
lighter work.
The couple have four
daughters -Mrs. Marie
Butler,London, Mrs. Florence
Charette,London, Mrs. Rose
Ortiz, Ottawa and Miss Bernice
Patten, London. Eleven grand-
children complete the family
circle.
Among the congatulatory
messages received were those
from Premier W. Davis and W.
Stewart MPP for Middlesex.
