deputation at Hensall Council,
August 3. Mrs, Godbolt presented
a budget for the expenses for the
Hope Nursery School being
operated for children of this area,
On a motion of Councillors
Neilands and Erb council agreed
to accept responsibility for
Hensall's share towards the
school.
In presenting his monthly
report to council utility man
Ernie Davis informed council of
work .completed since the last
meeting. He reported that the
drain had been laid on Queen
Street, the joints cemented and
catch basin installed. He said
branches from trees had been
removed at the request of two
citizens, 24 catch basins cleaned,
roads patched with cold mix,
town hall roof coated and signs
erected as requested by the
Parks Board.
Council was advised that the
roof on the flat top of the arena
would have to be replaced shortly
and that the chimney needed
repair.
Boise Cascade asked that a
fence be removed to permit
vehicles to drive around the
;arena.
The dump committee reported
that Garth Postill had made a
good job bulldozing the refuse
grounds. The mill dump took 25
hours at $25.00 per hour while the
domestic dump required two
hours at $50.00. Postill agreed to
return and cover what the mills
have dumped at a later date.
It was decided to review the
new building code and revise
handling of permits at a separate
meeting.
Council agreed to accept the
official plan as presented by the
Huron County Planning Officer.
Permits were issued to Don
Smale for siding his house, to
Cook's Mill for installing a steel
tank and to Mrs. P. Day and Bill
Noakes for renovations.
Bills and accounts were paid in
the amount of $7,741.43.

Emmanuel United Church, Elizabeth Seebach of

daisies. The same feature also
decorated the wrist bands of the
long full sleeves. Her floor-length
veil of silk illusion was held by a
coronet of daisies. She carried a
bouquet of yellow rose buds and
white stephanotis.
Attending her as matron of
honour was Mrs. Richard
Johnston of Toronto and
bridesmaids were Rosemary
Cullum, Toronto and Carmen
Currie, Sebringville, sister of the
groom. All wore identical dresses
of peppermint green and white
floral chiffon and each carried
colonial bouquets of yellow
chrysanthemums and white
daisies while daisies and baby
mums were entwined in their
hair.
Wayne Currie, London, was
groomsman for his brother and
guests were ushered by Douglas
Gordon, Toronto, brother of the
bride and Charles Evans of
Toronto.

Elderly man
passes away
Robert Henry Boyce of Hensall
passed away August 8 in South
Huron Hospital in his 92nd year.
Surviving are his wife the
former Laura Beatrice
Barisdale, one daughter, Mrs.
Earl (Shirley) Hackett, Strat-
ford, Another daughter Mrs,
Harvey (Iris Lucelle ) Sparling
4. predeceased December, 1970,
Also surviving are his son-in-
law Harvey E. Sparling,
Willowdale; two granddaughters
Ruth and Susan Hackett,
Stratford, and two grandsons
Stephen Sparling and David
Hackett.
The late Mr. Boyce was a
member of Chiselhurst United
Church. Funeral services were
held from Bonthron Funeral
Home August 11 at 2 p.m. with
Rev. D. R. Beck officiating.

entertain patients
The W.M.S. and Arnold Circle
of Carmel Presbyterian Church
are entertaining the patients at
Queensway Nursing Home every
Monday during the month of
August.
Last Monday Mrs. Edith Bell
entertained with piano selections,
and singing was enjoyed by all.

Monday's program of old-time
music and sing-a-long was
cancelled last week owing to the
holiday.
Mrs. Prouty of Exeter led the
regular Bible Study Tuesday in
the chapel followed by a hymn
sing with Miss Aylesworth as
pianist.
Twelve tables of games were
played Wednesday afternoon in
the auditorium. Miss Cassie
Dougall won the high ladies'
score for the euchre. Rodger
Gilbert had high men's score and
Mrs. Leyburne and Mark Sproat
shared the consolation prize.
The Zurich Citizens' Band
entertained the residents Family
Night with a fine concert on the
lawn. With ideal weather prac-
tically all the residents were able
to enjoy the program.
The residents are looking
forward to a band concert August
16, at 7 p.m, provided by
Goderich Band.
The wedding reception was
held at the Victorian Inn,
Stratford.
For travelling the bride chose a
navy and white ensemble with
navy accessories and a white
gardenia corsage. On their return
the young couple will reside in
Toronto.

George Walz, Parr Line, who
has been in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, for the past month
remains there.

London, were Sunday guests of
Mr. & Mrs. John Soldan.
Mrs. Aldwinkle is a pateient in
Clinton Community Hospital with
a fractured hip suffered in a fall
at her home.
Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Wm.
Kyle, Mrs. Grant MacGregor and
Mrs. Maude Hedden who have
been patients in South Huron
Hospital have returned to their
homes.
Mrs. Edna Paterson is a
patient in South Huron Hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Vern Alderdice and
family spent the weekend in
Thornbury.
Mr. & Mrs. Laird Mickle spent
a few days last week holidaying
at Port Elgin and Southampton.
Gwen McLean, nurse in
training at St. Clair School of
Nursing, Sarnia, is holidaying for
sixweeks with her parents, Mr. &
Mrs. Ken McLean.
Johan Van Dyke of Oud-
Byerland, Holland, has been
visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Sim
Roobal.
Mrs. E. Ellis of Clinton visited
this week with her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Lorne
Chapman and Rod.
Mr, & Mrs. Earl Campbell and
Mr. & Mrs. Percy Campbell left
this week on a motor trip to the
West Coast,
