The two-year study costing $58,000 was presented by J, A. Nicklom and T. S. Keith of G. V. Kleinfeldt Associates of London to about 40 residents from the southern part of Huron county. Exeter's mayor Jack Delbridge was given an op- portunity to ask the first question. He asked what effect the new land severance committee would have on the committee of ad- justment and was told,"you can stay in the land division business." J. L. Wooden, principal of South Huron District High School and a member of the Huron planning board questioned the plan's quoted figures on the potential capacity figures for the five secondary schools in the county, Wooden said the plan's capacity figure of 1,505 for South Huron was unrealistic. Said the local high school principal, "These figures are grossly exaggerated. Our capacity is more like 1,180," Gary Davidson, Huron's planning director said he would investigate the difference in the school figures. In reply to a question con- cerning existing town plans, Wooden was told that an official plan, like the one now in effect in Exeter would be a subsidiary to the county plan. Exeter lawyer Elmer Bell said he was concerned that the plan seemed to discourage people in establishing homes outside of towns. "You have severe restrictions here, If people want The measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew. be would never be found out. * * * Doctor: "It's a bad sprain, but I'm not worried about it." He was told by the planners "we are trying to prevent subdivisions from springing up all over, We are not against houses here and there in the country." Jack Malone, manager of the Ontario Development Cor- poration at Huron Park asked several questions regarding his community and was told, "We recognize the park as a significant element. It will require co-operation between the two agencies." lgin Hendrick of Hay town- ship questioned the practicality of the plan's minimum size of lots at one-half acre where all ser- vices are not available, He suggested that the half acre lot requirement would restrict recreational living and curtail expansion. • Similar meetings are being held to-night, Thursday in Clinton and Monday night in Wingham, Any residents of Huron are welcome at any or all of the upcoming meetings.
