The meetings, all to begin at 8:30 p.m, will be at Exeter, July 20; Clinton, July 22 and Wingham July 26 and held in the town hall in each instance, Since its creation in late 1968 the County of Huron Planning Board has been actively pursuing the preparation of an Official Plan to promote and guide development throughout the County. The consulting firm of G. V, Kleinfeldt and Associates was engaged in the summer of 1969 and they have now completed a draft Official Plan for Huron County. The plan, when adopted, will provide County Council and the planning Board with 'the necessary and appropriate ad- ministrative tools to guide and direct the development of all the municipalities in the County in a manner deemed to be in the public interest", The plan will be the County's "Statement of Policy" on land use, it will provide "guidance and direction" to both public and private interests. The plan sets out suggested policy on such issues as: (a) recreational development on the Lake Huron Shore (b) urban development (c) rural development (d) future municipal planning The consultants, under the direction of the Planning Board, prepared the draft plan, This draft plan is not yet an Official Plan, Before the plan becomes official, local municipal councils and the public at large must comment on the draft plan. Based on these comments County Council will submit a draft plan to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for his ap- proval, Upon approval by the Minister the draft plan becomes the Official Plan. The purpose of public meetings is to let the public make their feelings, either pro or con, known to County Council, the Planning Board and the Planning Department, Based on their comments an effective plan can be developed and implemented, A copy of the draft plan may be obtained through any library in the county or from any County councillor, Lloyd and Mabel Glanville would like to express their sincere thanks to all relatives and friends who remembered them with lovely cards and gifts on the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary. 27* The family of the late Don Harris wish to express their sincere appreciation to friends, relatives and neighbors for cards, visits and treats during Don's lengthy illness and for expressions of sympathy, floral tributes, donations and deeds of kindness during their recent sad bereavement.
