Havasu Trading Post, han-
dling strictly Canadian han-
dicraft, was open for business
last Friday. This new place of
business is situated on the out-
skirts of Grand Bend on Highway
21 south,
Peter Sandilands is the owner
and the merchandise he sells is
Indian and Eskimo crafts as well
as other handicrafts. He hopes it
to be a true Canadian store.
Mrs. Peter Masse and Mrs.
Win. Schlegel will be on hand to
serve the patrons,
The local Institute quilt is on
display at Havasu and tickets can
be bought for a raffle on this quilt
at a later date. The proceeds will
go to the medical centre fund.
Havasu means Blue Water in
Indian,
DESSERT LUNCHEON
Tuesday, June 15 the Sunday
School room of the United Church
decorated with summer flowers
was the setting for a dessert
luncheon entertaining UCW
groups from Zurich, Dashwood,
Greenway, Centralia and Kettle
Point.
Following dessert and coffee
the ladies met in the church
proper for worship, music and a
guest speaker.
Mrs. Alex Hamilton conducted
the worship period, Miss Evelyn
Curts of Greenway played
several music selections on the
organ and Mrs, Wilson of Cen-
tralia sang a solo, Mrs. Geiger of
Zurich read a poem.
The guest speaker, Mrs.
Zurbrigg of Listowel spoke on
"Mental Pollution" giving the
ladies much food for thought.
The offering for the day was to
be sent to Korea to Rev, & Mrs.
Irwin for to help send a needy
family to school.
The benediction, Shalom, was
sung by Mrs. G. Kading and Mrs,
Wm. Brenner.
DECORATION DAY
Decoration Day was held
Sunday afternoon at Grand Bend
cemetery.
Guest speaker was Rev, Bruce
Guy of Dashwood, Rev. H.
Dobson led in prayer and
pronounced the benediction.
In spite of the extreme heat
the service was well attended.
Roy Morenz and Cecil
Desjardine sang two appropriate
duets.
SHRINERS AT CHAPEL
The Blue Water Shrine Club
held their annual church service
in the Mary-Ellen Chapel at
Eisenbach's museum Sunday
afternoon.
The Alhambra's were also in
attendance.
Rev. Canon Maurice Farr,
London, chaplain of Mocha
Temple Shrine was guest
speaker.

Mrs. Margaret Nichol of Kit-
chener visited last week with Mr.
& Mrs. Tom Baird.
Mr. & Mrs. Tom Belt of
Milford, Mich., and Mrs. Joe
Moore of Detroit visited last week
with Mrs, Leroy Bariteau. They

supper at Greenway, Saturday
evening.
