NDP group
holds rally
Over 60 canvassers from the
area gathered at the home of Pat
Chefurka, NDP candidate for
Middlesex North for a barbeque
and rally last Thursday evening.
The volunteer campaign
workers are at present com-
pleting the first canvass which is
attempting to cover the entire
Middlesex North riding. The
areas of Lucan, Parkhill,
Komoka, Ilderton and the urban
sector of the riding in London
were all represented.
Mrs. Chefurka, Komoka, and
Mrs. Dorothy Elliott, Parkhill
her campaign manager, are most
optimistic about the NDP's
chances of winning the riding,
particularly with the delay of the
election until fall, giving the
party more time to employ its
volunteer forces to canvass the
riding. Informal discussion
continued over hamburgers and
coffee.
