A book on the history of
Crediton, Ontario, was recently
sent to Crediton England in honor
of St. Boniface celebrations being
staged there this month.
Mrs. Wilfred Mack, who was
instrumental in having the book
compiled, received the following
letter this week from a resident of
('rediton's English counterpart:
Fermaine, Threshes,
Crediton,
Devon
Dear Mrs. Mack,
I feel sure you will forgive me
for writing informally, but I must
let you know as soon as possible
that your parcel from Crediton
Canada, has reached me safely,
What a wonderful surprise I
had on opening it! It was just like
Christmas time! . trying to
guess what was in it and who it
could be from! How good of you
all to work so hard and produce
such a work of art! You will, of
course, be hearing from the
Society officially but may I say a
big "thank you" for the pleasure
your gift has given to me alone.
Last evening I attended the

while their parents holidayed at
Toronto.

Thedford, Friday.
High winds recently blew out
considerable garden crop.
A'side effect of January's great
blizzard was felt at this week's
meeting of the Middlesex County
Board of Education. It seems that
the student council at North
Middlesex District High School at
Parkhill depends to a con-
siderable extent on the financial
receipts of its popular winter
carnival,
When the blizzard all but wiped
out the event the students were
left with a $628 deficit. The Board
has agreed to pay this deficit
provided that the student council
reimburses the board in the fall.
With summer recreation
programs being planned in many
communities, the Board agreed
to let certain school athletic
facilities and equipment be used
for public programs at a nominal
fee.
Repeating last year's suc-
cessful arrangement, the North
Dorchester Parks and
Recreation Committee will be
able to use Dorchester High
School track and equipment for
an eight-week period at a fee of
$25.00. And equipment from
secondary schools will be
available for the experimental
youth project being carried out at

Today, I have attended a Saxon
meal which was held in the oldest
room of our parish church. This
room goes back in date to the 13th
century -our meal was exactly as
it would have been at the time of
St. Boniface - with the very bread
made of home grown, home
ground flour front a Saxon farm.
There are many other ac-
tivities taking place on this our
Festival Day, as well as
Protestant and Catholic services
in the different churches.
Tomorrow H. R. H. the Prin-
cess Margaret is visiting the
town, attending Church, visiting
the Statue of the Saint erected to
his memory and then meeting the
members of the St. Boniface
Society,
It will be my priviledge to show
her your book of Crediton in
Ontario,
I must once again say "Thank
you."
Yours sincerely,
