This year the Competition took on a new aspect with the in- troduction of field crops classes. The total number of competitors was 126 and results were as follows: Senior - 6 Competitors - open to all young men and women 18 - 30 years of age, and also to all those who have represented the County onRoyal Teams and Graduates of a Two Year Diploma Course in Agriculture. 1st - Bob McNeil - RR 6, Goderich - score - 732 - possible - 800; 2nd Brian Miller, RR 3, Exeter - score - 704 - possible - 800. Intermediate - 41 Competitors - open to all young men and women 15-17 years of age who have not represented the County on a Royal Winter Fair judging team. By MRS. Reports of committees were on the agenda. W. Sturdevant reported the Medical building is progressing favourably, Donations are now ap- proximately $25,000.00. Mr. Mennel reported on the information office. During May, 234 persons made inquiries. The new brochure has been distributed to 19 information centres, four Chamber of Commerce and three Automobile Clubs as of now. Mrs. Glavin of Crediton has been hired to work' in the Information office for the summer to help Mr. Mennel and Mrs, Gill. Murray DesJardin and Frank Plumb reported placing the beach benches. A discussion on 2:00 a.m. closing for all business establish- ments took place resulting in a recommendation going to council in favour of enforcing this suggestion.
