students of Exeter Public School was held last week. The individual

pionships at last week's anneal
track and field meet at Exeter
public school,
Kim Postill won the senior girls
division with 23 points while
Valerie Sweet was second with a
15-point record, The intermediate
girls honours went to Helen
Brand with 12 points while
Julianne Brittain and Carolyn
Perry were in the runner-up spot
with eight points apiece.
A record of 15 points gave
Laurie Wildfong the junior title.
Tied for second with eight points
each were Joanne Taylor and Jill
Tuckey.
Rick Schwartzentruber was the
senior boys winner on the
Three minor baseball clubs
from Crediton have been entered
in the Western Ontario Athletic
Association and are competing in
pee wee, bantam and midget
ranks.

Lawn bowlers
open new season
Members of the Exeter lawn
bowling club officially opened the
season Saturday with a pot luck
supper at the club house followed
by an evening of jitney action.
Veteran performer Walter
Hodge copped firstprize with two
wins, a plus of 18 and aggregate
of 30. Next in line was Lila Smith
with a plus of 10 and 26 aggregate
to go with a double win.
Russ Snell placed third with
two wins, plus of 3 and aggregate
of 19. Placing fourth was Girlie
Ince with a record of two vic-
tories, plus of 2 and 23 aggregate.
Completing the prize list was
Kay Snelgrove with a plus of two
and 19 aggregate and a pair of
victories,
Drizzly weather Tuesday night
slowed down bowling action but
failed to stop it. Of a small
number of competitors, Lillian
Pym proved to be the best with
two wins, a plus of 11 and
aggregate of 21.
Next in line were Wellington
Brock and president Alvin Pym
each with one win and plus and
aggregate of 8, 18 and 6, 16,
respectively.
Local track star
to all Ontario
Ron Janke who recently tied
for the senior boys individual
championship at the recent
Huron-Perth Conference track
and field meet Saturday qualified
to represent South Huron District
High School in the All-Ontario
track finals.
Janke placed second in the
senior 100-yard dash in the good
time of 10.1 seconds at Saturday's
WOSSA meet in London,
knocking .2 seconds off the
existing H-P record. He also
placed fourth in the 120 hurdles in
a time of 15.9, a full half second
better than the H-P mark.
Other South Huron performers
turned in line efforts. Gary
Hartman was fifth in the mile
event but turned in his best time
ever, four minutes, 44 seconds.
Pete Kleinstiver also set a per-
sonal record completing the 120-
yard hurdles in a time of 16.1,
again bettering a Huron-Perth
record.
The junior 880 yard relay team
composed of Peter Kleinstiver,
Dave Cyr, Gary •Lavier and
Larry Bourne placed fourth but
came up with their best time of
the year of 1.36.6. The midget
relay team also bested their best
time by a tenth of a second while
placing sixth,
