The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1971-05-20, Page 10Pa9e 10 Times-Advocate, May 20, 1971 BATTLE ICE — No, this is not a photo left over from last month. It was taken on Friday, May 14 when eight boats from the Grand Bend fishing fleet became stuck in ice as they started back into harbor. It took them over two hours to battle their way home in the ice, some of which was eight feet thick. Below, the Naomi with Henry, Howard and Joe Green aboard finally nears the river, As may be expected, it was one of the latest dates on record for ice on the lake in the Grand Bend area.
