CARMEL More than 100 girls and boys of high school classes attended a Youth Retreat held in school gym last Sunday, Guests were present from Zurich, Grand Bend, Dash- wood and Mt, Carmel area. Discussions were held and folk- songs enjoyed. Dinner was served by Mt. Carmel C,W,L, Mass was held in the afternoon. Rev. Father Hayes from Toronto was guest speaker. Rev. Father Durand of Zurich, and Fr. J. Mooney of Mt. Carmel also spoke to the students. PERSONALS Mrs. Catherine Morrissey had as her guest, Mrs, Mary Bedard, Zurich, over the weekend. Mrs. Morrissey is making great im- provement since returning home, Rev. Father Mooney an- nounced last Sunday that St, Peter's Church had new doors installed last week replacing the wooden ones which were over 100 years old. The former Ursuline Convent was auctioned last Saturday and sold to Mrs. Matilda Voisin for $4,000.00. She has sold her farm to Harry Van Osch. Mr. & Mrs. Larry Carey and Rita Anne from London spent Sunday with their parents Mr. & Mrs. Joe Carey. Mrs. Roherty from Hamilton is visiting with her daughters Mrs. Pat Glavin and Mrs. Leo Boyle for a few weeks, Lorraine Hall has completed ,her third year at Western ministered to Trevor Ralph, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robt Edwards; Anne Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Delbridge; Christine Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bev Parsons; Andrew Neil, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Grubb. Jim Lynn, Sunday School superintendent was in charge of the service assisted by Rev. S. Miner, The invocation was read by David Parsons. Prayers were given by Eleanor Johns and Howard Johns. Scripture was read by Gerald Johns, Kevin Hern, Debbie Parsons, Sheila Penhale and Elaine Pym. Stories were given by Joan Pym, Joan Kerslake, Helen Batten and Carol Allen. Offering was received by Gerald Johns, Brian Pym, Ricky Skinner and Kevin Hern, Flowers were placed by the family in memory of the late Mrs. Rachel Bell.
