Confirmation was ad-
ministered by Bishop Carter to
the youth of several parishes last
Monday evening in St. Joseph's
church, Stratford. Grade VIII
boys and girls from Mt. Carmel
School were among the group to
receive this sacrament.
Glenn o'Rourke of OPP Mt.
Forest visited last week with his
mother, Mrs. Clara O'Rourke.
Mrs. Catherine Morrissey
spent a few days in St. Joseph's
Hospital last week after being in
a car accident.

Thursday the A.C.W. of St.
James' Church met in the home
of Mrs, Karl O'Neil in Lucan. The
meeting was chaired by
president Mrs. Arnold Lewis. Mr.
Carson led the Bible study.
Mrs, James Cunningham read
a paper prepared by her
daughter Joan, describing her
recent trip to Majorca, Spain,
which is one of the Balearic Isles,
in the Mediterranean Sea.
The next meeting of the A.C.W.
will be May 27 at the home of
Mrs. M, J. Simpson.
Sunday Rev. R. A, Carson
preached on the Bible, He said we
need to read the Bible, with
Bunny tea profit
to aid missionary
Sheila Smith performed the
opening ceremony at the Lucan-
Clandeboye expedition last
Monday.
It was agreed to use some of the
profit from the Bunny Tea to pay
for the bus to the London rally,
and towards the missionary
project, Rev. Don Raffin in
Brazil, as well as for scissors for
use of all groups,
Explorers learned to com-
municate by singing and acting
songs,
The girls divided into three
groups, moving into three ac-
tivities. Games under Mrs. Keith
Kraul; deciphering codes to
communicate, with Mrs. William
Froats; a story, "I didn't mean it
that way," with Mrs. Ross
McRoberts.
The Gold-Star girls had perfect
attendance.
The closing ceremony was
performed by Joanne Hodgins.
The next expedition will be May
10.
