J. TEMPLEMAN STAFFA The annual meeting of the Staffa Women's Institute was held Wednesday evening in the township hall with 17 members present. The president, Mrs. Ed Chappel, presided and opened the meeting with the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect, Roll Call was answered by, What resolution did I make that I lived up to? Fees were paid for the coming year, An interesting paper on the motto, 'Nothing is impossible we merely don't know how to do it,' was prepared by Mrs, A, H. Daynard and read by Mrs. John Templeman. A letter was read from the Institute's adopted child. Members were reminded of the 4-H Homemakers Achievement day to be held in Mitchell Saturday, April 24. A letter was read regarding a speaker on drugs. Mrs. John Miller was asked to present the Institutes trophy at the Mitchell and District Music Festival May 7. Mrs. John Miller, Mrs, Ed Chappel, Mrs, Charles Douglas and Mrs. Carter Kerslake were chosen voting delegates for the District Annual in Stratford, May 18. Mrs, Ed Chappel was named delegate to the area convention in the fall. All reports were in- teresting and confirmed that the Staffa Institute had had a suc- cessful year. Mrs. Carter Kerslake presided for the election of officers, which are: past president, Mrs. Ed Chappel; president, Mrs. John Miller; first vice president, Mrs. Ross Smale; secretary treasurer, Mrs. Charles Douglas; assistant secretary treasurer, Mrs. Jo Van Valkengold. District director, Mrs. Ed Chappel; assistant district director, Mrs. Carter Kerslake; branch directors, Miss Vera Hambley, Mrs. Verna Brooks, Mrs. Lloyd Miller, Mrs, Ray McDonald; pianists., Mrs. Robert Mc(aurhey, Mrs. Ed. Chappel, Auditors. Mrs. Wilbur Glan- ville, Mrs. Lloyd Miller; press reporters, Mrs. Cameron Vivian, Mrs. Norman.
