Nursing homes
to be included
It's a big step forward," ac-
cording to Harry Klungel, owner
of Queensway Nursing Home in
Hensall, when he commented on
the Ontario government's plan to
include nursing homes and home
care under OHSIP.
He said the Nursing Home
Association has been working for
this since 1966, and his only
regret is that the plan will not
come into effect before April,
1972.
Asked if he thought the new
legislation would increase- the
population in nursing homes, Mr.
Kungel said it was hard to say.
"Probably the government will
lay down prerequisites for those
entering Nursing Homes, and a
rate structure will also have to be
set up.
"There will probably have to be
more legislation before the
system starts operating," he
stated.
