Mrs. Donna Jones crowns Mrs, Dianne Wooden, the winner for Xi Gamma Nu, while Mrs, Ada Dinney and Mrs. Thelma Russell make the presentation to Mrs, Marion Tinney for Alpha Pi. Mrs. Wooden and Mrs. Tinney were presented with pins and yellow roses. Mrs. Donna Jones lead in the founders day pledge, and the year's highlights of the two chapters were given by Mrs. Marilyn Wilson and Mrs. Louise Giffin. Mrs. Rosemary Schaeffer read the message from International, and the pledges were welcomed by Mrs. Rolande Duffy. A prize-winning sorority song, "Light Many Lamps", was sung by Mrs. Maud Connon who ac- Mr. & Mrs. Ewart Pym and Mrs. Edgar Squire were guests at a dinner at IOOF hall in Hespeler, Saturday, when the family of Mrs. Oscar Morley (Flossie) celebrated their mother's 80th birthday. Mrs. Morley is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Pym and Mrs. Squire. Fifty guests attended. Al Pickard has returned from Vancouver where he spent the winter with his sister. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fletcher who holidayed in California recently have returned home. Mr. & Mrs. Edward Brown, Buena Vista, R.R, 1, Uxbridge, visited Sunday with their aunt, Mrs. Myrtle Brown, William Street. companied herself on the piano. Highlight of the evening was the announcement of the 'Girl of the Year' awards. Selected by secret ballot, the two members chosen were Mrs. Dianne Wooden for Xi Gamma Nu, and Mrs. Marion Tinney for Alpha Pi. Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Ada Dinney and Mrs. Thelma Russell made the presentations and crowned the winners with garlands of daffodils. The evening's events continued with the installation of the of- ficers for the Xi Gammi Nu Chapter, and pledge ritual and rituals of jewels ceremonies for the Alpha Pi Chapter. Mrs. Nancy Wright and Mrs. Valerie Callingham were the new pledges, and those taking part in the ritual of jewels were Mrs. Dorothy Baldson, Mrs. Alice Beer, Mrs, Dzintra Catlos, Mrs. Deborah Newby and Mrs. Verla Russell. Rebeka hs fete D. D. president Pride of Huron Rebekah Lodge honored the official visit of District Deputy President Lois McFalls with a dinner at Exeter United Church, Wednesday evening. Corsages were presented to Mrs. McFalls and Noble Grand Gladys Skinner, Following the banquet the members met in the lodge rooms with Mrs. Skinner presiding. Mrs. McFalls was officially welcomed and escorted to her place of honour by PNG Lillian Pym, Members enjoyed visits to Clinton, Goderich, Seaforth and Brussels lodges recently, Officers recently served at the banquet of the District Meeting in the Lodge Hall, Exeter. The Vice Grand Lorette Ball reported on sick and shut-ins and the financial secretary, Lena Kirkland gave her semi annual report. A number of members will attend Ruth Rebekah Lodge, Stratford, May 7. Suggestions were invited to encourage at- tendance at the United Nations speakoff. District Deputy President Lois McFalls addressed the members speaking on the offices of Rebekah and Oddfellowship. Lillian Pym gave two readings, During a robot skit Mrs. Falls was presented with a gift in remembrance of her visit . Those in the skit were Lorette Ball, Elaine Skinner, Tena Pollen, Jean Hodgert, Margaret McBride and Lila Smith. qiceleatieCat otalA4 The Huronia Male Chorus, lead by Harry Hoffman, presented a program of music Sunday evening with the residents joining in the singing. The April birthday party was arranged by the Brussels and Cranbrook Women's Institutes. The program consisted of songs and dances followed by the presentation of birthday gifts to 22 of the residents. Auburn United Church Women present a variety program for Family Night, Thursday evening. soft music throughout the ceremony in the .church which was decorated with candelabra and pink and, white flowers. The bride'sgown was in empire lines of smocked nylon and peau de sole. Her viel was elbow length. and she carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and daisies. Auxiliary donate hockey jackets Exeter Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, boosters of many local projects, passed a motion to give $300.00 toward purchasing jackets for the Exeter Pee Wee hockey team at their meeting Tuesday night. The same evening they donated $25.00 to the Canadian Navy League and $10.00 for the Exeter ride-for-cancer. New officers were elected as follows: president, Mrs. Rena Young; first vice-president, Mrs. Barb Hern; second vice- president, Mrs. Betty Wedlake; secretary, Mrs. Marion Frayne and treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Pfaff. The new executive consists of Mrs, Irene Jackson, Mrs. Jean Scott, Mrs. June Grant, Mrs, Annie Lawson, Mrs. Marg Edwards, and Mrs. Geraldine Smith. The installation of the officers will take place at a joint ceremony with the Legion later in the month. The past officers banquet will be held June 19, and the ladies will cater to several banquets in May. - Over 40 members attended the meeting, marries Her sister, Mrs. Sanford Clare of Victoria B.C. was matron of honor and wore a gown of mint green nylon, while Mrs. Ray Ransley, London, sister of the groom, the other attendant wore a similar dress, in powder blue. They both carried nosegays of pink roses. William Milliken was groomsman for his brother, and the bride's brothers, John and Charles Miner acted as ushers. After the reception in the church parlours the bride changed to .a travelling outfit consisting of a navy dress with white coat and red accessories, Mr. & Mrs. Milliken will reside at 11,11. 7, Sarnia. RNA GRADUATE Bonnie Maxine Bilyea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Bilyea, Granton, graduated from the Registered Nurses' Assistants course at Byron, April 16. She has accepted a position at St. Joseph's Hospital, London and commences her duties May 3.
