The response to our plea for
bicycle parts has been tremen-
dous, bicycle parts and even
entire bicycles are rolling in.
Keep up the good work, folks —
even that small part you may
think would be of no use, could be
the vital part rerquired to
complete a bike.
Your efforts are certainly
appreciated by us all; but more
especially, remember you are
assisting in making some un-
fortunate child's life just a little
bit happier. The numbers to call
are Comrade Page at 228-0425 or
Smilin' Carl at Branch 540, phone
227-4751.

Wednesday, April 14 it was my
pleasure to introduce 'an old
campaigner" to the comrades at
the regular meeting of Branch
540. This young chap joined the
Royal Navy in '94 and was retired
medically unfit in 1919.
He escorted troops during the
Boer War, saw action in the
Boxer Rebellion and the Battle of
Jutland and was present at the
earthquake at Messina and
assisted in rescuing survivors.
He is a life member of Branch 25
in Sault Ste. Marie and my 94
year young dad — John H. Daley.
I have asked a stand-in to
write next week's column,

Lucan United Church was
decorated with candelabra and
ferns when Rev. W. C. Tupling
united Linda Ann Smith and
William Glenn Snider in
marriage, April 10, 1971.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Smith of
Lucan, and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snider of
Grand Bend.
Music was provided by Jackie
Hodgins and soloist, Janis
Freeman, of Lucan.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor-
length gown of white lagoda,
high-lighted by empire waist, and
long full sleeves with wide cuffs.
The A line skirt cascaded at the
back forming a cage chapel train.
Delicate Swiss guipure lace
formed rows throughout the
bodice, touching the cuffs and
neckline, while tiny bows trim-
med the train. A Juliette cap of
lace and seed pearls held her
shoulder-length veil of silk
illusion. She carried a white Bible
covered with a white orchid,
white roses and fern,
Her maid of honour, Grace
Smith, and bridesmaid, Jean
Hickson, both of Lucan, and
sisters of the bride, and Valerie
Snider, of Grand Bend, sister of
the groom, wore identical formal-
length gowns of Venetian pink
sheerganza. Headpieces of roses
intermingled with bows and a
short veil completed their en-
sembles. They carried bouquets
of pink carnations and white
mums.
Paul Snider of Grand Bend,
brother of the groom, was best
man, and Terry Hickson of Lucan
and David Smith of Lucan,
brother of the bride, were ushers.
After a reception at Lucan
United Church, followed by a
dance at. Lucan Community
Centre, the happy couple took a
trip to eastern points, the bride
wearing a blue fortrel pant-suit
with black accessories.
The bride is employed by the
London Free Press, and the
groom is a registered laboratory
technologist at Strathroy-
Middlesex General Hospital.
They will make their home at
Strathroy,
