Mrs. Ken McLean presided for the meeting. Her devotional was entitled "House-cleaning," and she closed with scripture and Easter prayer. Mrs. Lorne Hay gave the study • on Trinidad and used a film which showed the people, homes, schools and churches, and the work of the Church there. Mrs. Jack Consitt conducted a contest, Mrs. Robert Drysdale LADIES HOSPITALIZED Mrs. Clarence Reid is a patient in St, Josephs Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery, April 13, Mrs. Sim Roobol is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, • where she underwent surgery, April 13. and assistants served a tasty lunch. UNIT II The April Thank-Offering of Confirmation at United Church Sunday, special Easter service was held by Rev. H. F. Currie who delivered the message, "The Reality of His Living Presence." Sam Rannie was soloist. The Easter flowers were again provided through the courtesy of the estate of the late Mr. & Mrs. Victor Fee. Confirmation service will be held April 18 at 11 a.m. when a number of young people will be presented for confirmation. DDP visits Amber lodge Mrs. Gerald McFalls, of Exeter, District Deputy President made her official spring visit to Amber Rebekah Lodge April 7 and was welcomed and presented a corsage by Noble Grand Mrs. Jack Taylor who presided, assisted by Vice-Grand Mrs. Elizabeth Riley. The meeting reported a very successful C.P.T. euchre and dessert euchre. A number of sick and shut-ins were remembered since the last meeting. Mrs. Glenn Bell of Amber Rebekah Lodge Hensall, was nominated and accepted the office of District Deputy President of district 23 for the year 1971-72. Mrs. Inez McEwen and Mrs. Leona Parke were appointed to visit patients at Queensway Nursing Home this month. Unit II, U.C.W. was held Monday evening. Mrs. Bill Fuss welcomed everyone and opened with a poem. Mrs. Carl Payne chose for her devotional the theme "The In BetweenDays" using portions of Scripture from St. John. Roll Call, a Bible Verse with a name of a place in it was an- swered by 21 members. An invitation was received from Dashwood United Church inviting members of Hensall U.C.W. to a Daffodil Tea to be held May 5. The general meeting is planned for May 17, with Unit II in charge. The study for the evening was an interesting film on Trinidad showing churches, schools, ways of living, and many more im- portant facts. During lunch the members had the pleasure of listening to some records of gospel singing, featuring Quartettes of both Canadian and American talent. -Sunday school Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted Easter service in Carmel Presbyterian Church delivering a sermon entitled "The Resurrection — Our Hope." The choir was assisted by the Sunday School members and the members of the board of managers, sang Easter numbers under the direction of the organist Mrs. Malcom Dougall. Anniversary services will be held May 16. Guest speaker will be Rev. Russel Gordon of St. George's Presbyterian Church, London. The scarament of baptism will be held next Sunday in Carmel Church, Mr. & Mrs. Gordon McKenno1, Guelph were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Grafton Squire, Sue Ann and Paul. Miss Audrey Anderson, Stratford spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Johnson. Mr. & Mrs. McLeod Mills and Barry were Easter weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Ben Mills, Oakville. Mr. & Mrs, Alton Wallis, Gerald and Barbara Switzer, Kirkton were Sunday dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Wallis, London. Mr. & Mrs. Earl French were Good Friday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Ron Henderson, Bright. Mr. & Mrs. McLeod Mills, Barry and Bruce were Good Friday dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Ray Mills, Centralia. Mrs. Percy Hodgins attended a U.C.W, meeting at Mrs. Duncan McNaughtons home, Base Line, Thursday afternoon a guest of Mrs. Margaret Baker. Howard Morley, Hazel Park, Michigan was a Good Friday visitor with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Morley. Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Mitchell and Mrs. Bristol Holden, St. Marys and Mrs. Jas Kinkade, Stratford were Good Friday dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Squire. Douglas Squire, Toronto spent the week end with his parents. Mr.. & Mrs. Clark Rollings and Ken, Bryanston were Sunday callers with Mr. & Mrs. Alton Neil. Mr, & Mrs. E. Ferguson at- tended the funeral Wednesday of the former's brother, Amos Ferguson from the Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan. Mr. & Mrs. E. Ferguson were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Keith Hern Zion. During the week Mr, & Mrs. E. Zavitz Thedford were visitors with the Fergusons, Mr. & Mrs, Don MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke of Scarborough, Mr, & Mrs. Gerry Chapman of Port Lambeth, Craig Chapman of Strathroy visited over the weekend with Mrs, & Mrs. Lorne Chapman and Rod. Mr. & Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke of Scarborough visited on Easter with the for- mer's mother, Mrs. Bertha MacGregor. Mrs. Herb Stretton who has been a patient in South Huron Hospital for the past weeks returned to her home, Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. William Jaques and family of Newcastle and Mr. & Mrs. Harold Jaques and Steven of Cooksville visited over the holiday with their parents Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Jaques. Wilbert Dilling is a patient in South Huron Hospital Exeter. Miss Ann Plantenga of Zurich and Hensall left April 9 by plane for Holland where she will make her future home, Mr. & Mrs. Grover Book of Ottawa visited over the weekend with Mrs. Book's mother, Mrs. Grace Harpole. Mrs. Pearl Shaddick and Mrs. Annie Cole who have been spending the winter months vacationing in Lakeland, Florida, returned home Thursday. Mr. & Mrs. Albert Alexander have returned from a two months vacation in Arizona and while there visited with Mr. & Mrs. Orville Jones, formerly of Hensall.
