Mrs. Kenney was chairman, Mrs. Wein read the Scripture and Mrs. Finkbeiner led in prayer and introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. W. J. Cairns, Sudan Interior Missionary on furlough from Patigi, Nigeria. Mrs. Cairns, who is in charge of a dispensary, showed slides of her work and of the Nupe people whom she serves. Mrs. Ratz read an 'Easter poem and Miss Doris .Swartz sang to the piano accompaniment of Mrs. Gordon Finkbeiner. During the business session, presided over by Mrs. Ed. Fink- beiner, Barbara Pfaff, on behalf of the Youth Fellowship, requested help for the preparation of the sunrise service breakfast. An invitation to attend a.tea at Greenway was accepted. Gertrude Beaver and Agnes Lamport, Detroit, were weekend guests at the home of Miss Clara Gaiser, The Grade VIII pupils of Stephen Central School toured the Ontario Science Centre Friday. They returned home enthusiastic about the day's adventure., Mrs. W. Haviland, Mississauga, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Preszcator. Rev. & Mrs. Fred Faist, Stratford, were Sunday visitors at the home of Miss Nola Faist. Miss Colleen Brown, Sault Ste. Marie is a-guest of Rev. & Mrs. Douglas Warren. Wednesday afternoon and evening Mr. & Mrs. Will Oestricher visited at the home of Mr. & Mrs. V. Franks of London. Mrs. Franks' mother, Mrs. J. H. Hardy of Port Perry, was a houseguest. Mrs. Hardy is a sister-in-law and Mrs. Franks a niece of Mrs. Oestricher. Mrs. W. J, Cairns was guest at the home of Mrs. Alvin Fink- beiner, Wife to husband: "Charles, you just don't tell your own daughter she's getting too big for her stretch pants." By MRS. FRED BOWDEN Easter decorations were arranged to make an attractive setting for the April meeting of the U.C.W. held Thursday evening in the schoolroom of the Church with Mrs. George Hicks, Mrs. Earl Haist, Mrs. Alvin Lobb and Mrs. Harvey Smith in charge. Passages of scripture were read by Mrs. Earl Haist and meditations on the scripture were given by Mrs. Alvin Lobb. An Easter peom was read by Mrs. Harvey Smith. Mrs. Russell Wilson sang with Mrs. Ken Hodgins playing the piano ac- companiment. Two poems were read by Mrs. George Hicks, and a film was shown. Mrs. Sam Skinner presided for the business and plans were finalized for the Blossom Tea, May 12 when Rev. Susan Seymour of Granton will be guest speaker. An invitation to attend a tea at Greenway was read and accepted. Happy Birthday was sung for Mrs. George Hicks and she was honoured with a decorated bir- thday cake, PERSONALS Communion was observed in the United Church Sunday morning and Mrs. Russell Wilson sang The Holy City. A pageant, The Challenge of the Cross will be presented during the service Easter Sunday morning. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Greb and Mrs. Amos Smith returned home on Friday after vacationing in Florida. Mrs. Smith remained with her daughter and son-in-law for the weekend before returning to her home in Mount Albert, Sheryl Pickering, daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Don Pickering, Hyde Park, was a weekend visitor with her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Hodgins. Mrs. Fred Cunnington who was hospitalized in St. Joesph's Hospital, London, for over three months was able to return to her home, Sunday. Saturday morning Mr. & Mrs. Bill Spence and Mrs. Ken Parkinson drove the 4-H Girls, Joy Thacker, Janice Thomson, Arlene Johns, Maxine McCorquodale, Judy Thomson, Donna Jones, Jeanne Doyle, Beverley Youngson to Elmira where they attended the Maple Syrup Festival. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Parkinson, Margaret and Janet and Miss Jean Copeland were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Copeland, Cynthia, Ellen and Deanna. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Berry of Toronto were weekend visitors with Mr. Allen Berry and also visited with Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Anderson, MissRhea Mills visited on Saturday with Mrs. Alice Bolton of Strathroy. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Thomson of Parkhill visited Thursday with Misses Blanche and Rhea Mills. Rev. J. P. Cooke, Mrs. Cooke, and Mr, & Mrs. Jack Cooke of Thamesford visited Sunday evening with Mrs. John Butters, Mr. & Mrs. George Wheeler and Mr. & Mrs. David Wheeler. The Kinettes of Clinton were hosts for a program and tea Wednesday afternoon. Slides Were shown of residents taking part in various activities such as birthday parties, Christmas concert, Hallowe'en and the annual bazaar. - A lively musical program was presented for the residents by the Jolly Millers of Benrniller, at Thursday's Family This is an annual spring con- cert prepared by the Jolly Millers and included a trio, The Fussy Old Maids from Lynn, a skit, The Silent Spot, a duet by John and tarry Williams; a solo by John Williams; accordion selections by Marie Willis, and several numbers by the chorus and the Jolly Millers Band, Mrs. Bill Johnson and boys were Mr. 84 Mrs. Mel Scrimshaw and family, Hamilton, Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Firby and family, St, Thomas, and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Lake of Hyde Park. Chas. McKinnon and son John of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Barry McKinnon and Chas. Davidson of Toronto, Michael McKinnon, Mr, & Mrs. Ralph Crandell and son of London were Monday visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Borden Smyth.
