Sunday, March 28 at the 11:00
a.m. service, St. Andrew's United
Church, Lucan, will hold a ser-
vice dedicating their new pipe
organ to the memory of the fallen
comrades of the two world wars.
Our esteemed first president,
comrade Percy Vahey will be
representing the first great war
veterans while Comrade Murray
Hodgins will represent the second
war veterans. It is hoped a good
turnout of all ex-servicemen and
women and the Ladies of our
Auxiliary will attend this
momentous occasion.
Church news Several Lucan and Clandeboye
people, wearing their green spent
the morning of St. Patricks Day
at the Lucan United Church.
While ladies interested in the
art of cake decorating, attempted
this skill under the direction of
Mrs. E. G. Ross of Lucan, others
gave their attention to the
playreading on "Marriage"
presented by the Or Shalom
ladies of London. An interesting
scene was set with the six ladies
taking the part of three couples in
everyday problem situations.
Discussion followed and
brought out the need for ac-
ceptance of mates in marriage.
Co-operation is desirable that
each may know the support of the
other. Another suggestion was
that personal relations be taught

good attendance
The Lucan-Clandeboye ex-
plorers held an expedition March.
15, at Lucan United Church, with
a total attendance of 34. The Gold
Star group received a cheer for
perfect attendance.
Officers were appointed for
March and April, Chief
Explorers, Sheila Smith and
Joanne Hodgins; treasurer,
Joanne Cunningham. They were
installed by Mrs. William Froats.
Gold Star girls completed
embroidering 12 baby gowns for
the bale. The girls had collected
many interesting slogans and
graffiti to bring in, and the top
girls on points were Cindy
Donaldson and Sheila Smith.
An imaginary Thank You letter
from a boy in Africa, who might
have received a Bible from the
Bible Society in Canada, was
read.
The offering will buy one such
Bible.
An illustration of a Bible tied
with rope was shown to show that
the Bible is a locked book if (1)
you do not use it, (2) you cannot
afford one, or (3) as in some
countries, you cannot read.
Each girl is to find by next
meeting a verse which she thinks
should be communicated to all
people.
Routes for selling tickets for
the Bunny Tea were explained,
and the girls practised selling.
Next meeting will be held
March 29, no uniform is required,
unsold tickets to be returned and
written take-out orders brought
in for the 18th Bunny Tea, April 3.
The girls will be decorating
serviettes and making
table centres at this meeting.
in our educational system to point
out the need of getting along with
others and making preparation
for marriage.
Visitation break was enjoyed
after the first group had
decorated the cupcakes donated
and served by Mrs. A. W.
Thompson and Mrs. L. Mason.
Gift boxes of decorated cup cakes
were sent to some of our shut-ins.
Mrs. Ross donated the cake
which she had decorated so ar-
tistically to the one sitting on "St.
Patrick's" chair, who happened
to be Mrs. Saward.
The discussion group on 'Action
70's' became involved in the
subject of worship and how
children can be helped to respect
and worship God, when T.V. and
"doing your own thing" seem to
be the way of life to-day.

HOLY TRINITY ANGLICAN
The weekly Lenten program
was held in Grace Church
Ilderton, Sunday night. Dr. D.
Johnson, a psychiatrist, at the
Children's Psychiatric Hospital
spoke on Christ and the
Psychiatrist.
She said the three aspects of
the person: body, mind and spirit
were dealt with by Christ who
looked after the whole man. She
said that Christ brought love into
the world. It is this love that's
needed in modern society.
As an example, she sighted the
child whose mother couldn't show
love though she bought things for
the child. She hadn't been loved
by her own mother. So, Dr.
Johnson said the sins of one
generation are passed on to the
third and fourth generations.
Next Sunday the speaker will
be the Rev. Canon Gordon Baker
of Bishop Cronyn Memorial
Church, London.
The Learning for Lent Nur-
series received a dose of T.L.C.
from United Church teen-agers-
tender, loving care-to the babies
and toddlers by Jane Lockyer
and Judy Froats.
T.L.C. to 20 other ppe-schoolers
and kindergarten children was
given by Jane Hodgson, Janet
Smith and Betty Park. Jane told
the Winkie Bear story, Janet
look children two by two to play
in Winkie Bear's House and Betty
taught songs and games. The
children also enjoyed a group of
pictures.
The next meeting will be March
31, and this will be the only one at
which a collection will be taken
and this will be for the Bunny
Bundle crippled children.
