Robert A. Passmore of Owen Sound, assisting Rev. Nathaniel Holmes. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs, Lorne C. Elder of Kingsville, formerly of Hensall, and the groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs, James M. MacBride of Hamilton. Theyoung couple honeymooned in Quebec City where they at- tended the Winter Carnival. They now reside in Hamilton. Cardno, Seaforth, showed a film on "Nutrition" and conducted a question and answer period. She was thanked by Mrs. H. Caldwell and presented with a gift. Greetings were brought from the district by Mrs. Delbert Geiger, district president. Mrs. R. Bell convened the lunch committee assisted by Mrs. J. Drummond, Mrs. S. Pepper and Mrs. W, Mrs, R. Kinsman gave cour- tesy remarks. MRS. E. SARARAS Celebrates 90th birthday Mrs. E. Sararas celebrated her 90th birthday at home, March 9, with her seven children, and with 31 other members of her decendants present. A birthday cake, in the shape of a horseshoe, graced the table, decorated with pink carnations and candles. A smorgasbord dinner was served to the guests, and Mrs. Sararas was presented with flowers and gifts by her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Appoint members for Assembly Noble Grand Mrs, Myrtle Taylor conducted the regular meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Elizabeth Riley. Arrangements were made for the annual visit of the District Deputy President Mrs. Lois iVIcFalls, April 7, and the District annual to be held in Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter, April 14 to which all Past Noble Grands are invited. Mrs. Elizabeth Riley reported for the visiting committee, Mrs, Dorothy Corbett, financial report, and Mrs. Aldeen Volland reported for the C.P. & T. an- nouncing a euchre party March 31. Mrs. Grace Thompson and Mrs. Maggie Campbell were appointed scholar and representative to attend the General Assembly in Toronto in June. Mrs. Hazel Corbett was ap- pointed representative to the District annual meeting at Exeter. Mrs. Margaret Eyre was named as an alternative, The appointment of the District Deputy President for the new year was discussed and it was decided to have a meeting of the Past Noble Grands at a later date, to choose a candidate. Super Sewers hold meetings The first three meetings of the Ilensall 4.H Club, Separates for Summer, were held at the home of Mrs. WM. Fuss. The members decided to call themselves the "Super Sewers" with nine members on the roll call, Mrs. :red Oud is assistant leader and the president is Alma Oud, secretary, Donna Johnston; treasurer, Willy 1310m; press reporter, Cathy Fuss. Mrs, Ed Gill chaired the meeting. The roll call was an- swered with, How a farmer and his wife can find more leisure time. The motto, If you want to keep the country clean let everyone sweep in front of his own door was ably given by Mrs. Alex Hamilton. The theme for the meeting was Agriculture and Canadian Industry. The Convener, Mrs. Carmen Lovie, talked about the economic future of Ontario. An Irish poem, Flinnigan and Flannigan was humourously read with an Irish brogue by Mrs. Frank Plumb. A song song of Irish songs led by Mrs. Ross Love, was enjoyed . Mrs. Clara Hamilton entertained the group with a reading and Mrs. Nola Taylor conducted a contest. The Grand Bend ladies stayed for 'a short business session. Plans for the benefit card party were completed. Groups II and III handed in their project money amounting to $36,65. Ten dollars was voted to the Medical Centre in memory of the late Mrs. H. Walper for her 25 year mem- bership, FATHER AND SON BANQUET The evening of March 17 a father and son banquet was held in the United Church, sponsored by the U.C.W, Roy Stevenson, history teacher and guidance counselor at SILD.H.S„ was guest speaker. His topic was Travelling Tips. Jack Riddell, also a teacher from Exeter high school, led a sing song. Dennis Willert gave a report on the Toc Alpha conference he attended in Niagara Falls. W.I, TO HELP M.C. FUND The Women's Institute will sponsor a card party with all proceeds to go to the Medical Centre fund March 27. During the evening there will be a Dutch auction, and a cake walk. The ladies are hoping for a good turn out. ORPHA CLUB MEETS The Orpha Club met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. J. McCracken. Final plans were made to entertain the Senior citizens in April. Mrs, H. Dobson and Mrs. Agnes Smith served lunch. PERSONALS Mrs. Eleanor Brennen, Toronto, spent a day in the village this week. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. & Mrs. M. Moloy in their recent bereavement. Kris Douglas is home for the school holiday from Mount St. Joseph Academy, London. Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Desjardine and Cheryl have returned home from Florida. Mr. & Mrs. Don Flear and family visited in Toronto for a few days this week. Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Ford are vacationing in Florida this week. William Brenner and son Douglas flew to Florida last Saturday and will be returning home on the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Glen Brenner who have spent the winter there. Mr. & Mrs, Melvin Douglas are home from the sunny south where they were vacationing for a few weeks. John Manore has returned to his home after having spent the winter months in Florida.
