Mrs. Hazel Mitchell of London visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Wm Brenner and family. Mrs. Stanley Mitchell of Hensall is visiting with Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Hendrick for a few days. Mrs. Hendrick is con- valescing at her home after having been in hospital. Church held a social evening at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ken McCrae, March 3. The evening was spent playing billiards and darts. Officers for the year elected are: president, Jack Gaiser; vice-president, Stanley Haist; secretary, Mrs, Lloyd Guenther; social committee, Mrs, Jack Gaiser, Mrs. Don Bender, and Norma Weigand. Lunch brought the evening to a close, PERSONALS Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader and Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Salmon attended the 62nd annual hydro convention at the Royal York hotel, Toronto, last week. Miss Sharon Rader spent several days with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and family last week, in Zion, Mr. & Mrs. Louis Restemayer are celebrating their 58th wed- ding anniversary today, March 11. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Maine, Kitchener, spent a few days with Mr. & Mrs. Reinhold Miller. Mr. & Mrs, Robert Miller and Janet Miller, Waterloo spent the Larry Steinman, out-going president of the U.W.O. student council is returning to Zion Lutheran church March 16 for a special meeting with Zion Young people and their friends. THE TA ADS By MRS , CLARKE KENNEDY GRAND BEND The community was saddened last Thursday by the death of Lawrence Mason, He will be missed by everyone, but especially by the young hockey enthusiasts of our village. The March meeting of Dash- wood W.I. was held March 2 with the Home Economics and Health group in charge and Mrs. John Rader convener. Roll call was answered by giving a health rule in our house. Mrs. Earl Keller discussed the motto, There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching out to help others. Mrs. John Rader read a poem and Cathy Becker favoured with two piano solos. Guest speaker was public health nurse, Mrs. Gerald Martene. She shc, wed a film on drugs followed by a talk and distributed pamphlets to the ladies, President, Mrs. Howard Maier, dealt with the business, A bir- thday gift was sent to the spon- sored girl in India. Members were asked to bring a 50 cent gift to the next meeting for secret pal and also to bring annual reports, The Institute members and husbands will dine and tour Dashwood Industries April 27 at 6:30 p.m, The short course on needlecraft will be held April 20 and 21 at D.C.C; The Institute will canvass for the Red Cross.
