The January meeting of the
Hibbert United Church Women
was held in the Family Life
Centre of the church. Mrs.
Cameron Vivian and Mrs, Oscar
Reed were in charge of
devotions and chose as their
subject, What do ye more than
these?
Mrs, Ross McPhail was in
charge of the business. It was
decided to have a birthday box
for the year, each member to
put in a donation on the month
of her birthday. The annual
strawberry supper is to be held
the middle of June. Used
postage stamps are to be handed
to Mrs. Murray Christie.
Sixteen members answered
the roll call by naming a
moderator of the United
Church, and paying their fees.
Mrs. Ross McPhail gave
comments on the general council
meeting to be held in Niagara
Falls this month. Mrs. Murray
Christie played recorded music
by her daughter Carolyne.

Mexico travel
talk at SHDHS
The second travel talk in the
current SHDHS series will be
presented Thursday, Feb. 18 at
7:30 by Mrs. M. R. Park.
Mrs. Park is a graduate of
Queen's University and teaches
French and Spanish. She has
three children. Betty and Jeff
attend Medway High School and
Nancy attends Carleton
University. Along with her
family, Mrs. Park spent three
weeks in Mexico last summer.
You will enjoy her illustrated
account of their visit to Mexico
City, Acapulco, Taxco,
Cuernavaca, Toluca and other
places.
