The budget, presented by authority secretary-treasurer Mrs. Carl Hume, earmarked $125,600 for capital works projects within the authority's four-county watershed of Middlesex, Lambton, Perth and Huron. Capital works programs include $32,500 for continuation of the Parkhill Conservation Area's recreational development and a $45,000 Parkhill Conservation Area's recreational development and a $45,000 erosion control project at Grand Bend. The Parkhill scheme last year cost $40,000, will provide this summer's visitors with new washroom facilities in the camping and beach areas. In addition, an extensive tree planting program was initiated throughout the conservation area. Work has begun on the Grand Bend project, representatives learned, although contractors have been delayed because of recent storms. The project is expected to stop erosion of the riverbank just west of Highway 21 in Grand Bend where buildings have been threatened by damaging Lake Huron waves. Administration costs for 1971 will claim $91,900 of the budget with maintenance totalling $18,000. Provincial and federal grants amounting to $159,250 will cover the major portion of costs, although the 23 member municipalities will be asked to provide $48,800 — about 10 percent more than in 1970. Special levies, park admission revenues, cottage lots and dock fees will make up the remaining budget income. McGillivray Township clerk William Amos and Tuckersmith Township Reeve Elgin Thompson, were elected by Snowmobiles not permitted Exeter police chief Ted Day reminds snowmobile operators that it is an offence to drive along Main Street with a snow vehicle. Another major problem is that 50 percent of operators of snow vehicles involved in fatal collisions were under the influence of alcohol. acclamation to their third .consecutive terms as Anaabie authority chairman and. vice-chairman respectively, Other members of the executive committee are Fred Hoffner and Clarence Charlton,. with advisory board .chairrneni Lorne Hay, of finance; R. pooloy 4 Exeter, flood control and valleylands;" Robert Love of Bosanquet Township, " sundry conservation areas; Elgin Thompson, Parkhill Conservation Area; Frederick Heaman of McGillivray Township, reforestation, wildlife and land use; Freeman Hodgins of Parkhill, education and information: and John Stephen of Blanshard Township, land acquisition.
