(4)FIdgittotod 1:011ININEY FURNITURE Jets win in south trip set for crucial games. 6 The Luca ri -Ilderton Jets continue to hold down first place in the Ontario Hockey Association Intermediate "B' grouping but their final three games will be crucial to say the least. The Jets meet the rough and tough Durham Huskies in a home and home series and take on the it, 'equally aggressive Elmira Polar Kings in the final league game of the season. The Durham Huskies will be at the Huron Park arena Friday night for an 8.30 contest and the two clubs return to Durham for a Tuesday night game. The Jets will host Elmira at Huron Park on Friday, February 19. The Jets with only one loss hold down the league lead with a four point lead over Durham who has lost three times. In their only action of the week, the Jets travelled to Erie, Pennsylvania and edged the Erie Lions 6-4 in a Saturday exhibition game. Most of the scoring was confined to the third period with eye goala being counted, Terry Dunn of Erie notched the only goal of the first period. Veteran Jet defence/pan Don Urbshott tied the count early in the second period when hp drilled in a hard slap shot from the point on a play started by Steve Storey andJack Nairn. Dunn was bank near the end of the period to put Erie back in front on a power play. At three minutes of the third, Steve Proctor deflected in a shot from Jacques Cousineau to knot the score at 2-2. FRED BOVVDEN CENTRALIA The United Church annual meeting was held in the schoolroom of the church Sunday afternoon and was preceded by a pot-luck lunch. Rev. Wilson presided over the meeting and Mrs. W. R. Essery acted as secretary. Reports showed a successful year in all organizations of the church. Hold annual church event By MRS. J. H. Harry Hardy is treasurer, mission and stewards' treasurer is David Kestle and Mrs. Keith Simpson was re-elected as Sunday school superintendent. Arnold Kilmer is pianist and James Donaldson is caretaker. ANGLICAN CHURCH Holy Communion was celebrated in St. James Anglican Church, Sunday. Rev. Carson preached on the theme You Live What You Think. He said Christianity is a way of life. Part of this way of life is the Church. The Church is related to the Diocese and the Diocese of Huron is the Incorporated Synod of Huron. He went on to discuss the government and administration of the Synod outlining its chief aims and functions. He stressed the need of supporting the Huron apportionment or budget so its commitments could be met. Next Sunday, Evening Prayer will be read in St. James Church at 12:30 p.m. UNITED CHURCH SERVICE At the United Church Sunday, Rev. W. W. Tupling spoke on Hope.
