Jets win in south trip
set for crucial games.
6
The Luca ri -Ilderton Jets
continue to hold down first place
in the Ontario Hockey
Association Intermediate "B'
grouping but their final three
games will be crucial to say the
least.
The Jets meet the rough and
tough Durham Huskies in a home
and home series and take on the
it, 'equally aggressive Elmira Polar
Kings in the final league game of
the season.
The Durham Huskies will be at
the Huron Park arena Friday
night for an 8.30 contest and the
two clubs return to Durham for a
Tuesday night game. The Jets will
host Elmira at Huron Park on
Friday, February 19.
The Jets with only one loss
hold down the league lead with a
four point lead over Durham who
has lost three times.
In their only action of the
week, the Jets travelled to Erie,
Pennsylvania and edged the Erie
Lions 6-4 in a Saturday
exhibition game.
Most of the scoring was
confined to the third period with
eye goala being counted,
Terry Dunn of Erie notched
the only goal of the first period.
Veteran Jet defence/pan Don
Urbshott tied the count early in
the second period when hp drilled
in a hard slap shot from the point
on a play started by Steve
Storey andJack Nairn. Dunn was
bank near the end of the period to
put Erie back in front on a power
play.
At three minutes of the third,
Steve Proctor deflected in a shot
from Jacques Cousineau to knot
the score at 2-2. Ken Campbell of
the home club made the score 3.2
and Doug Galloway again evened
matters for the Jets by tipping in
a shot from Don Urbshott,- Nairn

Fall behind
In Lambeth Wednesday night
it was the same story with the
Flyers taking an early lead and
the Hawks were never able to
catch up.
With Lambeth in front 4-0
early in the second, Ron
Lindenfield started the Exeter
scoring and before he was
finished he had scored three
times.
The other Exeter scored came
in the third period from the sticks
of Peter Kleinstiver and Larry
Haugh.
also picked up an assist.
The Jets moved quickly and
scored twice in less than a minute
near the 16 minute mark. Jack
Nairn finished off a three.WaY
effort with Bill White and Ken
Loft on a power play .and the
playing coach came right back to
finish off a neat effort, with
Storey and Galloway.
Ai Clague scored for Erie at
18.02 to cut the 1-1 lead to 5-4.
With Erie using six forwards and
less than 30 seconds to go Jet
defencernan Bill Donnell' lifted
the puck the length of the ice into

Larry Hossack, a valuable
member of last year's
